  • Baby's First Birthday Cake

My daugher's 1st BD is approaching and I've been thinking about how I can stay Primal but still make a cake with frosting. We'll be having a small party with friends and family who are not Primal. I've thought about just doing a Primal dessert like coconut custard but I want to avoid comments like, "I can't believe you aren't giving her a cake." Also, I secretly want her to have a normal cake, just have to find a Primal "normal" cake. Ideas?

If you get the comment "I can't believe you aren't giving her a cake." you should slap the person. A 1 year old isn't going to remember that she had cake, and introducing such a small person to tons of sugar and gluten would be stupid if you know the consequences. A quick google search "primal birthday cake" brings up a thread on the forum with some cake ideas, and others off the forum aswell. Happy birthday to your daughter whenever it is

in my opinion, the recipe calls for too much cocoa, and i just used truvia to sweeten. i did better the second time i made it and it tasted good but didn't give me cravings afterward. i don't know how primal it qualifies as, but it's just an option *shrug*

happy early birthday to your little girl!
      beautiful
      yeah you are

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.

Black beans are not primal, unfortunately.

We made these for our son's 1st bday.

But we used honey instead of agave. They were a hit.
