  • Frozen, ice cream-like treats (need ideas)

I am really craving something icy cold and creamy and sweet and smooth. Any ideas/recipes?

    TIA!

How about adding fruit to coconut milk in the blender and then making frozen treats out this?

I found this link per google. You can always change the ingredients to your liking.

also if you freeze bananas and then put them in the food processor I here they come out a lot like ice cream. never tried it my self. can also add almond butter in or perhaps dark chocolate depending on what you like.

Frozen bannanas dipped in melted dark chocolate and hardened in the freezer.
Heatup some almond butter and butter on the stove to make a sauce.
Top with whipped cream, nuts and possibly berries.
          Primal banana split sundae.

try this one - fill your blender with frozen berries. Add a cup of soy milk and 1/2 c sugar (or 1/4 cup of honey) and blend thoroughly. Add more soy milk to thin as needed.... im not really a soy milk fan, but, i was at a vegetarian friend's house for vacation a cpl years ago and we came up with this one.... enjoy

I add a little almond milk to this, the bananas are too thick and won't get creamy alone. Throw on some chopped walnuts, shredded coconut, or dark chocolate-yum! My kids love this!

Ya the frozen banana thing does turn out pretty good. And so easy to make 2-3 different flavors. Unsweetened cocoa powder and maybe chocolate chucks turns out great, as do the nut/nut butter variations. Even a non-paleo ice cream lover liked the banana no-icecream.

Down towards the end. It sounds weird, but I swear you can't taste the avocado at all. It makes the ice cream really smooth and creamy, and adds some fat to make it a more satiating treat I like to add some shredded coconut sometimes for variety!

It's not creamy, but it's easy. My kids have been cutting up watermelon, putting popsicle sticks into them, and putting them into the freezer.

Something that's creamy, cold, and chocolate:

--Heat heavy cream over very low heat
--Melt dark chocolate or pure baking chocolate in a separate container
--Slowly stir chocolate into heavy cream, blend well
--Pour into small containers (large shot glasses work well!) and refrigerate (if you're short on time, stick in the freezer for a while, but you it will be too hard to eat it frozen)

I have to say this comes out reeeeally chocolate-y. Let me know if you try it

we made whipped chocolate cream, with heavy cream, and cocoa powder. I was the only one who could stand it at the time, but we have found that our taste buds have changed greatly and we are going to try it again....even the addition of blueberries would have sweetened it up.
Our favorite treat is fresh blueberries and strawberries with some cold coconut milk over it and a square of 83% chocolate
