  • Sunbutter - What do I do with this stuff?

A very thoughtful person gave me a jar of sunbutter today. I don't really know what to do with it. I could eat a spoonfull or three out of it every day for the next few weeks I guess, but that seems kind of boring if tasty.

What should I do with this stuff? What can it be used for?

Bin it. Its made from sunflower seeds so has to be high in omega-6
Four years Primal with influences from Jaminet & Shanahan and a focus on being anti-inflammatory. Using Primal to treat CVD and prevent stents from blocking free of drugs.

Eat creatures nose-to-tail (animal, fowl, fish, crustacea, molluscs), a large variety of vegetables (raw, cooked and fermented, including safe starches), dairy (cheese & yoghurt), occasional fruit, cocoa, turmeric & red wine

Last week, I made the nutbutter chocolate muffins based on the recipe from FNW's site: http://www.joyfulabode.com/2010/06/0...chunk-muffins/ She also made a recent batch of cookies with an adapted recipe.

Oh really? That's depressing, I didn't realize that.

Doesn't it also have sugar ("Dehydrated Cane Juice") added to it?

I admit, it's really tasty stuff. I used to eat a spoonful for dessert before going primal.

Only 3g of sugar per serving which is pretty miniscule so I wouldn't even consider that, but I do try to stay away from omega-6 rich foods. That's a shame, I was looking forward to doing something creative with it.

There are some sunbutter satay recipes on the net. I haven't tried any of them, but they look tasty. IIRC most of them call for coconut aminos, too.

Just eat it.... I was also very fearful of O6's but it's not worth it. Enjoy it while the jar lasts. It's not like you're gonna buy it again.

In fact, yesterday I received 2 packs of slivered almonds. You bed I am eating them everyday!!! And I also got lentils, beans, and oats with it. You bet I will eat those too.....
