  • Primal "Reeses" Treat

Just made these for my hubby and he's a happy man!

    Ingredients:
    Nuts (your choice)
    Nut butter (your choice)
    Coconut oil
    Vanilla
    Good quality cocoa powder
    Cupcake liners

Chop up the nuts, mix in some nut butter. Spread on the bottom of the cupcake liners. Heat oil, add in vanilla and cocoa powder. Pour on top of nut butter mixture. Freeze for an hour.

There's no sugar in this, but it somehow completely satisfies my need for chocolate! Yum!

Oooh, you are a naughty, naughty grokette. Ouch.

...add a little bit of hot chilies and I'm there.

I've made the same thing but with the nut butter and chocolate parts mixed together... I like the idea of keeping them as separate layers. (And the vanilla, I never thought to add that.) Thanks!

Any estimates on amounts for the ingredients or is it just to taste? I'm downright terrible at judging how much is too much/too little.

Definitely going to try these with almonds/almond butter!

I did something similar a few months ago:
2 squares 85% (or higher) chocolate
                    1 spoonfull almond butter
                    1 tbsp walnut oil

Melt and mix together chocolate and walnut oil. Spoon half of it into the bottom of a cupcake liner. Top with almond butter. Pour the other half of the chocolate on top of that. Put it in the fridge for half an hour to an hour (until chocolate is hard again.)
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

                      These are guesstimates:

                      10-15 almonds
                      3-4 scoops almond butter
                      1 TBS vanilla
                      1/3 C coconut oil
                      2-3 TBS cocoa powder

Thanks! Hubs loves Reeses! He's been doing so well trying not to eat the garbage it'd be nice to make something he could have once in a while!
