  • What Wine are You Drinking?

This one is near to my heart.

I'm a beer lover but I have been getting into wine a bit lately.

So far my best experiences have been with a mosel riesling and a lovely Chilean organic torrontes.

Currently drinking beer but I had a glass of chardonnay earlier.

Mmm, I'm drinking a sauv blanc made by Frontera- Chilean. I love living in Colombia and getting this amazing wine for cheap!

As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.

Llano Sweet Red. For $6 a bottle, it tastes pretty dang good !

I can't afford to get picky about wine. "Two Buck Chuck" from Trader Joes (now Two and a Half Buck Chuck), usually something like cab. My rating scale is 1)Hey that's good, 2)OK, 3)That's kind of swill. LOL

Anything red.... Don't usually have any favourites, I like to keep an open mind but I do prefer French wine (I'm no snob!!).

All the wine. But currently, slumming with Relax Riesling.

Last night a glass of Le P’tit Paysan Mourvedre Rose from my friend Ian Brand and we split a bottle of Syrah-Mourvedre-Viognier from South Africa that I think was Wolfs-something. Should have taken a picture.

Now that our temps are in the upper 80's, I like a glass of pinot grigio while prepping dinner (Naked Grape is awesome, and only $6/bottle). Prefer reds, and the Mr. & I like to try different ones, but a staple is Rex Goliath Free Range Red (a red blend).

I've been enjoying pino grigio. It's quite refreshing. We get wine in a box.

I also recently tried something called sour beer. It was really delicious so I found where I could buy some (it's Belgian) and bought a 4-pack the next day. I hope that beano will help me drink it, because while sour beer is quite tasty, the resulting gas is quite horrible.

Home-made mead, I suppose it's a bit like a dry white German wine. Must get more honey and start a new batch. I rekin it costs about 0.60 a bottle... plus time!

I have a case of wine left over from my beer/winemaking days. Haven't had any in over 2.5 years, don't miss the ill health. Some people just can't process the stuff.
