  • Taurus Judge, I am confused!

So I have a .410 shotgun and am looking for a six-shooter .45/.410, but I see a lot of conflicting info about the Judge. Some say they are well-made but I find a lot of people say they are junk. Are there different grades of this gun? Should I buy some older model instead? I'd love a steam-punk style western revolver, but know NOTHING about guns, I've barely gotten my feet wet. Anybody know a good and pretty .410 revolver make and model?

My oldest son has one, and he let me shoot it.... damn thing kicks like a mule... The .410 was worse than the 45 long Colt, for some reason. The Judge is the only .410 pistol that I know of... I'm no expert, but it's the only one I know of... I have a couple of Taurus pistols, and like them both. My concealed carry is the Millenium PT111, and I also have a .357 magnum revolver

      Taurus International Manufacturing Inc

Looks like Taurus has several that fit the bill.

In my searches I've seen homemade guns, antiques, and more, and now my head is spinning even faster.

It's a gimmicky pistol ill-suited for anything besides maybe shooting snakes or mice up close.

+1 on what mr anthony said. It's a snake gun. What are you looking at using the pistol for? Maybe we can help you pick something else in your budget

              1911's where it's at.

I had a buddy who loved his judge, but never did anything with it. Never even took it shooting. He brought the barretta for that. Shame.

I hate taurus, they have terrible quality control. I've seen revolver after revolver of theirs have issues... 'ok send it back to us at the factory and we will fix it' month later you'll have it out of battery again or other issues.

                  Glock 9mm or a good .380

I have the Glock and it's a good pistol, no problems to speak of with several hundred rounds put thru it. easy to clean and it the trigger is the safety!!!

I've heard that Taurus' are decent quality but still not to the same standard as most American or European gun companies. If you just want something for snakes, get a S&W or Ruger in .357 or .44 mag and use ratshot.

Not for snakes, just pretty, more or less for home defense, fun. I want a longer barrel for accuracy, though!

There are roughly 1,530 better home defense handguns on the market.

There are Glocks, 1911's, M&P's, Beretta's, S&W revolvers, Ruger revolvers...figure out what fits your hand the best.

Best advice on shopping for guns.

Throw away the pretty magazines and ask the oldest fart behind the counter what he carries and if he'll let you try it out. It doesn't matter how many rave reviews a magazine gives, if it feels wrong in your hand, you aren't going to be shooting at top notch. That's the purpose of a gun after all.

Goes disagree on this one. I've seen WAY too many ignorant old gun store farts.
