No, hun, the saeculum is an ancient concept probably rooted in Etruscan culture.

Admit it though, you don't really know what "new age" ideas (or any ideas for that matter) are true; you just randomly dismiss things without further inquiry. You haven't read the 4th Turning and probably won't do so. It's called having a closed mind...

This isn't the last time you will hear these ideas on this forum, so get used to it. It describes what's going on all-around culturally (economic collapse, Facebook, Obamacare, obesity crisis, NSA, gov't shutdown, etc.)

In a few years you will all get it....and if you don't, I don't care.

Live your own life, be way out of season in terms of the saeculum (feminism is 70s Awakening and 80-90s Unraveling garbage) if you want to be; it's your life. One day 10 or 15 years from now you'll wake up and realize you don't get what's going on, and that will be your problem.

Just my 2 cents as a grown woman.

Modern society is a complex system undefinable by whimsical charlatans. Ok, now that my Perfidy complex is out of the way...

I already knew about the Strauss-Howe generational theory. There is some truth to the fact that societies can be thought of as a single, living, breathing organism, which changes in potentially cyclic ways. For every religious awakening, there will be a rational backlash. For every restriction of freedom, there will be groups of people who break the chains. For every growth of 'freedom', the government will react and occasionally overstep its bounds. This is just human nature because the whole population is not hyper-rational.

Do specific generations every 20 or 'x' number of years follow specific guidelines, as Strauss and Howe defined, from the dawn of man to the end of time? That's where I have to call extreme B.S. It couldn't possibly account for the difference stages that individual splinter societies are in, out of our national society as a whole. Once more, it couldn't possibly represent inter-national influences or the permanent, far-reaching lifestyle changes brought by technology.

Just throwing a few of my dollars your way.

Can't we just all go to a Peter Pan society and stay a kid???

The world would be so much better off if we would just stay children and play........

"Ah, those endless forests, and their horror-haunted gloom! For what eternities have I wandered through them, a timid, hunted creature, starting at the least sound, frightened of my own shadow, keyed-up, ever alert and vigilant, ready on the instant to dash away in mad flight for my life. For I was the prey of all manner of fierce life that dwelt in the forest, and it was in ecstasies of fear that I fled before the hunting monsters."

it is not relevant to you that in any given ZIP code across the united states, you can find a reliable stream of advertisements where men with capital are seeking to pay women to profit by their sexuality?

Just think about it for real for like one whole minute before you get emotional about it. The roots, who has capital and where and why and from what sources and what directions it moves in...please please just envision all of that.

I remember once when someone asked me a similar question in real conversation, and I had a Wilton reaction. Like, automatic, knee-jerk dismissal that tasted like contempt and distaste for the one that even asked the question.

Lucky for me though, halfway between starting the sound and finishing my "no," I was shocked that I would be so opposed to such an obviously superior notion of life, and it made me retreat deep into thought for a while, and I realigned a lot of my perspective.

One way that I failed to mature in a timely fashion is in regards to finances and I blame myself first and my dad second in a ratio of 51/49% me/him. My dad is the type of person who shows his affection with his money; he is very loving and has a decent amount of money to use in this way. When you receive his affection (money) he likes to be reciporicated by being allowed some measure of control over your decision making processes and life choices in general. So as an adolescent and young woman I was unaware of this dynamic and of course happily welcomed the gifts and money as it came and tried to make my dad happy by taking his advice on every topic from my career path to where I lived, who to vote for and whom I dated (though he did tell me to marry rich I didn't take that advice because I don't like the love=money game, I tried it a few times though). Anyways, because of the relationship with my dad, I didn't make a lot of decisions for myself and more importantly I never learned how to save money because my dad took care of every major purchase, emergency, car purchase or car repair until I was (embarrassingly) 30 years old. I finally couldn't accept pretending to share his politics and worldview anymore and when I was ready to oppose him, I knew I wouldn't get any more money out of him- and that has been the case. Now we have a better, more equitable relationship. I matured a lot in the last few years since I cut loose from his grip.

So when you ask yourself why women do this or that- or men for that matter- don't even get me started on my older brothers who never severed their unhealthy dependence on my parents and are both 40's and single and miserable- just realize that most people are still working through weird family dynamics- some of which may not even be apparent to them.

The same thing exists for men too(escorts), and it's the woman's choice. I fail to see how this is a legitimate "cause". It just shows some people are fucking desperate. Just wait for sexbots to replace this sort of income, which, funny enough has the feminists up in a rage. So, what, really are they against? "Institutionalized" anything is a silly buzzword for "I don't have any facts to back this up"

                            • See you are knee-jerking again. Think about the resources and their pursuit and who monopolizes them and what they expect of women and how this is depicted and who copies these depictions in pursuit of these scarce resources.
