    Perhaps it's the iodine.

GET THE GOVERNMENT OFF THE BACKS OF DOCTORS & HOSPITALS.
Excessive Government regulation is VERY expensive to everyone, & Obamacare just makes it all worse.
Communism (ObamaCare) doesn't work, never did work & never will work. It will fall flat on its face because of unintended consequences. To begin with, ObamaCare will obvoisly force MILLIONS of working couples into divorce, no married couple is going to pay a $10,000/yr penalty just to stay married. Young healthy people are NOT going to sign up for this madness.

These would be a good start.

You want healthcare to be like some medical version of Survivor--lots of competition. But the thing about science-based professions is that they work best COOPERATIVELY. You might say that science is communistic. When a discovery is made, it is published, put out there, and--if valid--can be replicated in other studies. For example, you offer info on iodine and cholesterol freely.

In a competition model, doctors would not share treatment notes, resources (ie, MRI machines, surgery staff)--scientific research would be a trade secret. That doesn't work well. Doctors cut costs when they share--expensive machinery, anesthesiologists, operating rooms, billing staff.

Also, it isn't the government imposing massive paperwork on doctors. It's the for-profit, competition model insurance companies. I know doctors who have been able to lengthen the time they spend with patients, offer more resources, and reduce their office staff by two, full-time people, just because they stopped taking insurance. They give you the paperwork and let you, the patient, deal w/your insurance. Then they don't have to jump through the insurance co. billing hoops.

I get that you don't like things as they stand. But don't be so quick to call communist on everything. Sometimes, capitalism and competition breaks things, too.

        • Personally, I would do very well with the old model, where I could give the doctor a chicken as payment, or eggs

Hey, we could all pay doctors in practical crafts, like knit hats and jelly and fruitcake. All the doctors would move to Portland, where they'd be guaranteed a wealth of home distilled pear brandy and hand-felted socks made from Golden Retriever spring shedding (Which everyone knows is much softer than the fall shedding).

            • EX-MARXIST CALLS OUT OBAMA AS 'COMMUNIST'

WASHINGTON – The disastrous launch of Obamacare could be just the beginning of a much larger and far more devastating crisis.

A growing number of analysts worry the health-care program itself has so many flaws that its could lead to the meltdown of the entire American health-delivery system.

And that, some have speculated, could provide just the excuse for the administration to push something called the “single-payer” system of health care as the solution for a catastrophic crisis.

In the case of such a full-blown crisis, critics say, the administration could claim the only solution would be to “transition” into a single-payer system, something President Obama has frequently claimed he prefers.

              A ‘transition’ step

In the collage of video clips above, Obama plainly stated before he became president: “I happen to be a proponent of a single-payer, universal health care plan … Everyone in, nobody out.”

He admitted the country might not “get there immediately” but that it could “build off” transitional programs.

Canada, he explained, got to single-payer through a “similar transition step.”

He called for a “transitional system building on the existing systems we have” and noted that such “transitions” can be “very difficult and costly.”

Likewise, Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., called Obamacare just a transitional step toward a single-payer system back in August, well before the health-care law had its debacle of a debut in October.

              What is a ‘single-payer’ system?

But, what exactly is a “single-payer” system that the president has repeatedly said he really wants? It’s a term unfamiliar to many Americans.

The “single payer” would be the government. Private insurance companies would be eliminated.

And although groups like Physicians for a National Health Program claim it’s the most efficient and clean way to administer health care, prominent conservative and author David Horowitz has another name for “single payer”: Communism.

Horowitz believes semantics are clouding a crucial issue: When leftists say they favor “single-payer” health insurance, what they really mean is they favor communism.

And that is what President Obama really wants, he concludes.

              Gave Obama a chance

.....In March 2009, Horowitz wrote of “the over-the-top hysteria in response to the first months in office of our new president, which distinctly reminds me of the Bush Is Hitler crowd on the left.”

Horowitz advised conservatives to give Obama a chance before opposing him.

“As for Obama’s speeches, they are hardly in the Huey Long, Louie Farrakhan, Fidel Castro vein,” he wrote. “They are in fact eloquently and cleverly centrist and sober. So what’s the panic?”

Now Horowitz may have found reason to panic.

He said Obamacare could be used to pave the way for a single-payer health insurance system. And he has no doubt what that would mean.

              ‘That’s communism’

“Why are we calling it single-payer? Single-payer means that the government has total control of your health care. That’s communism. That’s what it is. And that’s what they’re definitely driving for,” Horowitz said Wednesday on Fox News while promoting his new book.

“The Black Book of the American Left” describes how Horowitz inherited his radical-left politics from his parents, became a founder of the New Left, but then turned into one of its main antagonists after “three decades of second thoughts” led him to become a conservative.

Horowitz said it’s not difficult to figure out how the push to provide health insurance to all Americans could turn into a communist program.

He said the key players in the drive for Obamacare, the president and his closest advisers, Valerie Jarrett and David Axelrod, were all born into households that preached communism, just as he had been.

Horowitz claimed the difference is that he grew out of it, while the others never did.

              Concealed agenda?

The writer said he knows how they lie to conceal their destructive agenda.

Who, but a communist ideologue, he asked, “would try to centrally plan a health-care system for 300-million people after what happened in the Soviet Union?”

So, how could Obamacare become a single-payer system that Horowitz says will be essentially communist?

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” said Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s former chief of staff and current mayor of Chicago.

A growing number of political analysts now speculate, that if Obamacare does cause the U.S. health insurance market to collapse, the administration will will use that crisis as an opportunity to push a single-payer system, as the simplest and best solution.

A president who adopted “Forward” as his re-election motto would be almost certain to push for his stated ultimate goal of a single-payer plan, rather than going “backward” to the previous, market-based system.

              The first step

Ezekiel Emanuel, M.D., Rahm’s brother, has predicted the first step in that direction, saying the individual insurance market is already going away.

An Ocrt. 29 Wall Street Journal editorial claims that is no accident, and that “Americans are losing their (health insurance) coverage by political design.”

“The law (Obamacare) is systematically dismantling the individual insurance market, as its architects intended from the start,” claims the paper.

Going a step further, it stated, “Americans should understand that this month’s mass cancellation wave has been the president’s political goal since 2008. Liberals believe they must destroy the market in order to save it.”

The Journal believes the individual market works well for millions, but that is a threat to the administration because if too many people keep their polices, Obamacare could fail.

That, the paper claims, is why the Health and Human Services department has decided “everyone should have the same kind of insurance” which, in most cases, requires benefits that are “more comprehensive and thus more expensive than the status quo.”

In other words, the plans are more expensive and have features people do not want, which makes them a rather hard sell.

“The plans they want and are willing to pay for have been intentionally outlawed. Ponder that one,” advises the Journal.

              Eliminating private insurance companies

Fox News’ Chris Stirewalt observed, “If Obamacare doesn’t deliver the millions of desirable customers the president has promised, widespread rate shocks even higher than those already reported could cause more insurers to dump customers and get out of the business altogether.”

But that is just what Obama wants, according to M. Catharine Evans and Ann Kane.
Putting the private insurance industry out of business was all part of the plan,” they wrote in the American Thinker.

They call private insurance companies “the main obstacle to instituting a single-payer health care system in the U.S. ”

“They must be removed from the equation if Obama is to realize his dream,” the authors conclude.

If the private insurance industry does go belly-up – or if too many people lose their coverage – it would, indeed, be a crisis.

It would also provide the president the opportunity to “transition” to the single-payer system he began advocating years ago. And, just as he warned us, it may be “very difficult and very costly.”

Horowitz has another word for it.

              Deceptions and Malfunctions

Meanwhile, Obamacare already appears to be in meltdown mode as deceptions and website malfunctions continue to make news headlines every day.....

              • Healthcare was a MESS before Obamacare. It was too expensive and getting worse by the day. Something had to be done. The MAIN reason is the USA has become an OBESE, SICKLY nation because of Big Food selling us on unhealthy soda pop, wheat products, and JUNK foods. Just look around Walmart at all the FAT, SICKLY people waddling around like walruses. Just look at the JUNK in their shopping carts. America is a SICK nation and that is why healthcare costs are skyrocketing. Now an epidemic of FAT sickly children are even becoming diabetic. Who is going to fix THIS mess? Who is going to fix the Iodine Deficiency Epidemic resulting in MILLIONS of needless surgeries for women?

As the article I posted above says, Obama & the Progressive Communist Party are going to force all of us into a single payer system. If you don't like your doctor, then die. If you don't like your policy, then die. If you get old & sickly, death panels will deny care and send you home with aspirin. If you can't get adequate healthcare, where will you go? Sick Canadians come to the USA for treatment when their single payer system fails. Where are we going to escape to for medical care when our system fails? Canada?

The government is incapable doing anything as efficiently and as cheaply as privately owned business. They can't even build a website that works, and THEY are going to control my healthcare? If the government were to build an Apple Iphone, it would cost $100,000 or more. If Obama thinks government is so good, lets see him do something simple, like fix the Postal Service. Government screws up everything it gets control of. Why should a USA Single Payer System be any different?

The laughing stock of the world under communist Russia were the communist built cars. Does no one remember that communism collapses in every country that has tried it? Oh, that's right, the left wing nuts were sleeping in class. Wake up and do your homework before it is too late. We do not want a communist takeover in America.

Bottom line-don't get sick in America. Protect our health with good nutrition & supplements, to STAY OUT of the hospitals & Dr. waiting rooms.

                • These socialists have clearly never taken any sort of economics courses, or haven't ever sat back and wondered why socialist countries always fail.

Socialist countries are basically like making the government one big drug cartel. Socialism is taking a large portion of wealth from people who are successful, and middle class, and now even working poor, not to the poor, but to the government, who claim to make sure some of it is given to the lowest of the low. It isn't given to those who need it, but those whom the government decide needs it.

-Ransack a portion of a working class citizens earnings, via theft and "social contract"
-Give to people who abuse it
                  -Push investors away
                  -Jack prices up

Why do you hate socialism guys!?!?!? Rich entitled scum!

If you cared that much about the well being of others, you'd make a strong case for charity. Oh, but, wait, you don't really care. Socialism is the contradictory belief that it's greed to keep what you earn and not greed to take what another has earned.

PS it's basic math that shows it's not the richest of the rich who suffer under a socialist regime, but actually everyone else who doesn't fall under the criterion of the very top and very bottom

Let's picture the health care utopia that Grizz is envisioning. I'll just go for the obvious stuff, and let others fill in the minor details with their own minds.

First of all, anyone can declare him or herself a doctor, hang out a shingle, and start practicing medicine. No training or education is required. Perhaps this is not exactly what Grizz means to happen, but I have personally spoken to libertarians who believe that it is not the business of the government to keep untrained people from calling themselves "doctors" and practicing "medicine". They can make up their own credentials. There would be no way to verify a doctor's qualifications, except perhaps to try to see if anybody in your neighborhood knew if a particular doctor had injured or killed anybody they knew of. They can certify themselves, like Rand Paul has done in order to suck at the government teat and earn a good living sponging off Medicare. They can sell any product or treatment they want to, no testing necessary.

There might be doctors who prescribe the exact same treatment for any and every illness. Maybe iodine.

There would no longer be any regulation of insurance companies. States could not set minimum benefit requirements. In fact, an insurance company can charge money but never actually pay out benefits, and you would be out of luck if you got sick to find that getting sick means your insurance was canceled. And if enough people found out that their insurance company was a scam, their premium money was wasted, and they were going to go bankrupt from unpaid medical bills, and the company's business was hurt by this, they could just change their name and victimize the same people all over again.

Doctors could sell their own insurance products, requiring patients to purchase these products as a condition for getting treatment. No insurance, no treatment. But as with insurance companies, they could drop you and keep the money you paid if it looked like your treatment was going to be inconveniently time-consuming or costly.

Import Canadian drugs, sounds good. Why not import from every country, like used to happen before those nasty regulations stopped that? Well of course in the libertarian health care utopia you could buy any drug you want over the internet without a prescription. No need for the government to regulate safety, effectiveness, dosage, or purity. It's a violation of the rights of the drug manufacturer to sell their product if the government wants proper labeling on drugs. Sure, buy your psychiatric drugs over the internet, dose yourself, and die as my girlfriend did.

And if one of these quack doctors kills you or a family member, it's your own damned fault. Suck it up and deal with it. No more lawsuits to recover compensation when a doctor injures you through incompetence. Pay the lifetime costs of extended care for the person who used to be your breadwinner out of your own pocket. Don't have the millions of dollars it would take? Live in poverty and die from the inability to afford the treatments they need to survive.

Sounds wonderful. We can all go down together.

In a free market "utopia," if you don't trust a doctor's credentials, you can always go pick another. It would be the same with insurance companies. If a company has a reputation for denying coverage, there would be others ready to take their business with better service.

Government isn't required to ensure a product's quality. There are already commercial services that do this (Underwriters Laboratories with all kinds of stuff and Popular Mechanics with new cars). This is currently the case with most of the supplements that I use (whey, creatine). The FDA doesn't regulate them, so I must rely on reviews from fellow consumers. It's working well.

If a doctor killed people from negligence, they most likely would never see another patient. Even if they're not sued for a hefty sum, nobody would want to go see a doctor that has a good chance of killing them.

People should look out for each other. But government isn't needed for that. People are happy to give.

Tell your BS story to the woman I cured of Terminal Uterus Cancer in my little community. Her doctors sent her to Home Hospice to DIE. They gave up on her. I gave her and her best friend a copy the amazing book, The Iodine Crisis: What You Don't Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life
The Iodine Crisis: What You Don't Know About Iodine Can Wreck Your Life: Lynne Farrow, David Brownstein MD: 9780986032004: Amazon.com: Books
Within 6 months of starting the Dr. Brownstein Iodine Protocol described in the book, she was CURED !

Tell your BS story to this woman's best friend, who was suffering with Fibrocystic Breast Disease for over 20 years! Doctors could only think of VERY EXPENSIVE double Mastectomy, or expensive PAIN Killerr drugs. Within 1 month of reading the Iodine Crises Book, her painful, swollen breasts were cured for the 1st time in over 20 years. She says, "No One Will Take My Iodine From Me."

Tell your BS story to our mail lady. I gave her a copy of the Iodine Crises Book, and within 1 month her painful fibrocystic breasts were cured. I bought over a dozen of these books to give away to neighbors & church members. And these people ordered almost 100 books from me for their friends & relatives.

Should I be arrested for practicing medicine without a license???

Get real. Give people some credit for having some common sense. They are not going to see a backyard mechanic for brain surgery. Let the buyer beware and find the best health care that makes them happy.

If people were told the TRUTH by the FDA, they would not eat bread & all products made from wheat, and health care costs would plummet. There are 2 excellent books that describe the horrors of Wheat on human health:
                          1) The Wheat Belly Book by Dr. Davis:
Wheat Belly Blog | Lose the Wheat Lose the Weight

                          2) Wheat Brain, by Dr. Perlmutter
The devastating truth about the effects of wheat, sugar, and carbs on the brain, with a 30-day plan to achieve optimum health.
Renowned neurologist David Perlmutter, MD, blows the lid off a topic that's been buried in medical literature for far too long: carbs are destroying your brain. And not just unhealthy carbs, but even healthy ones like whole grains can cause dementia, ADHD, anxiety, chronic headaches, depression, an Wheat causes the Alzheimers Epidemic
Grain Brain: The Surprising Truth about Wheat, Carbs, and Sugar--Your Brain's Silent Killers: David Perlmutter, Kristin Loberg: 9780316234801: Amazon.com: Books

Tell your BS story to our neighbor. Why aren't doctors telling their patients about wheat? We have a neighbor who lost 100 lbs in 1 year when I told her to stop eating wheat. Her diabetes became manageable with far less drugs. Why did her doctor keep prescribing more & more diabetes drugs instead of telling her about wheat??? I let her borrow my copy of the Wheat Belly Book. She and many others got SUPERIOR healthcare from my efforts. Many doctors are simply high priced DRUG PUSHERS!

                          What about THIS poor woman?
"I am now a true Iodine believer. I suffered for over 30 years with PCOS, debilitating IBS, chronic allergies and upper respiratory infections,(including six bouts of pneumonia and many more of bronchitis and sinusitis), widespread eczema, fibrocystic breast disease, chronic fatigue and other hypothyroid-like symptoms such as weight gain and depression, asthma, heart arrythmias, and many other minor and chronic issues, finally culminating in Breast Cancer five years ago, and the removal of one ovary due to severe cysts. At one point, a doctor explained to me that we would be looking for one cause for all the problems, rather than many problems in the same body, which made sense. So needless to say, I went from doctor-to-doctor for years, searching for the underlying cause of all these many problems, with not much more than a pat on the hand and a lecture to watch my diet and get more exercise. In the meantime, my marriage, family and entire life were seriously impacted. I finally stumbled across the concept of iodine supplementation on the web — a simple pop-up ad did for me what all those doctors and their fancy degrees could not. Looking at the list of possible symptoms of iodine deficiency was like looking at my own medical history, and I couldn’t start taking it fast enough. After one month on 50mg of iodine, my IBS disappeared, after over 30 years of daily misery. And I mean DISAPPEARED. It was like a miracle for me. My energy picked up significantly. My skin stopped flaking, my hair became shiny again, and I haven’t broken a nail in three months — I’ve never experienced that in my whole life. I have to file them down weekly! My eczema is greatly improved. My one remaining breast is smoother, and less painful around my period. My allergies are also significantly improved, and getting better. My heartbeat is much more regular now. In short, I have seen improvement or complete resolution of nearly ALL of my symptoms, and the improvements continue, after four months now. It truly is amazing. The impact that this small amount of iodine has had on my health cannot be overlooked or overstated. My one continuing hope is that I’ll lose some weight, and I believe that it’s only a matter of time.

It’s really a tragedy that most doctors still refuse to believe that iodine can help with these kinds of problems, and, indeed, are afraid to supplement for fear of poisoning their patients. I’ve never felt better in my whole life, taking the kind of dose that many warn will cause a toxic overdose! Ignorance abounds, and I see so many women who clearly suffer from iodine deficiency, and will likely suffer for the rest of their lives, because of this ignorance. I’m so glad I found my own answers, and I hope this will help others to do the same!

I can totally agree with this woman about doctors. Iodine Used to be the Universal Medicine prior to WWII, but the drug companies have since erased the entire record and are now fighting against iodine.

Tell that to people who were cured through my efforts. Tell us what you have done to help your sickly, suffering, obese neighbors.

Yes I know I am wasting my time but even if a few people are listening, I WIN! BTW, I have received many questions about iodine since posting this thread. If anyone has questions, ask them here:
