Wheat and anxiety

    I wanted to update what's been going on with my son. First of all, he is eating less wheat since he does acknowledge he doesn't fell great after eating it. What has really helped him are the amino acids. He has been taking L-tryptophan with B-6 at night and, on Saturday, he started taking DL-Phenylalanine in the morning and afternoon. The NAC didn't seem to do anything for him so we stopped that. He has been able to sleep and he seems much calmer. I did take him to a psychologist who immediately wanted to put him on an SSRI. I refused. I just don't see why we shouldn't try the precursor to serotonin (L-tryptophan) instead of a medication that stops the serotonin from breaking down.
