It's all about exposure. People who never see porn are more likely to develop an addiction or repulsion to it. Those who regularly slaughter animals are less likely to feel emotional about it. Those who routinely eat green veg are less likely to find it gross. That doesn't mean any of those behaviours is the 'natural' one, just that responses vary based on exposure.
Do you think humans 'in the wild' cry when they kill an animal, are grossed-out by a carcass or unnerved by the eyes on its skinned head? It's natural to be comfortable with what you are familiar and uncomfortable with what you are unfamiliar.
Are serial killers what they are because they had had more practice? How is it considered pathological not this?
