The day when you finally climb out of your Starting Strength and Paleo dogmatism, then you will also see things much clearer Rich! You have a long way to walk though, maybe in a couple of decades or so…

But then I'd need to find a new arch nemesis.

I did notice that there are some that use sarcasm and humor-like comments in a crude way that results in people feeling insulted... When you aren't used to more (uhm) boisterous forums it's hard to distinguish between rudeness and the weird way people think and type in general but mean well... I saw there were complaints...

        anyway, back to the topic...
        - Mark had a brilliant brain wave when he came up with PB. I believe his idea is very close to the reality of what we have learned from science but that doesn't make him god... I mean he looks like Adonis but that surely doesn't make him one..
However he does have godly powers... just look at all the people he made healthy with just one thought!!!!!
Maybe we should start the cult thing....

and besides there is nothing wrong with a cult or being a part of it as long as it makes you happy and as long as you maintain your own free will!!!

I fixed the first paragraph of the article….

Q: "How can you tell if your friend is on a VEGAN/VEGETARIAN diet?"
          A: "They'll tell you."
And probably more than once. Same joke goes for paleo, low-carb, vegan and pretty much any organized dietary strategy that has a defining name and movement behind it.

I’ve been eating gluten-free and paleo for quite some time, and with the exception of my wife and daughter, nobody knows it. Not one other person. Even when people ask me questions I don’t tell them. I just say I lift weights once in a while, go for daily walks, and don’t eat processed foods.

As far as treating this like a religion and/or cult, Mark Sisson and Robb Wolf have both stated many times they hate that.

All the heresy in this thread has surely angered Our Dear Leader. I will prepare an offering of grass-fed steak, coconut oil, and organic carrots for Him.

I think there are always going to be people who take a certain belief system and get so serious about it that it becomes a "religion" to them. Exercise. Diet. Alcoholics Anonymous. Ultralight backpacking. Barefoot running. All of those (and I'm sure hundreds of more philosophies) have adherents that are so serious about them that it becomes like a religion.

And yet a much higher percentage of people passively follow that belief without getting unrealistically devoted to it. I believe that the Primal Bluepring/Paleo style of eating, exercising and living works. That said, to me Mark is just a guy and Primal has room for cheats.

from my relatively short time here, the only time a thread or post gets modded is when enough people hit the report button

and i really hope that the whole 'dissenting views are bad for business' posts were a joke
                            beautiful
                            yeah you are

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.
                            lol

Yep. Which is usually when people devolve into insulting each other.

No, he's just butthurt because it was a Peat thread that got locked. I'm sure grizz felt the same way when his iodine megathread went byebye.

For sure. The best solution to that is to not get sucked in. Or, to sit in the seat of the mockers. Come on it, the water's fine

Um, such as? (unless you're talking about the carb curve, which which case I totally agree with you).

No, that's a great attitude, and basically the one you *have* to have when finding out info on the internets.

Speaking personally, I've moved on a little from Primal to PHD, which overlaps primal in about 90% of what it says, but Jaminet backs up EVERYTHING he reccomends with science. You might want to check it out (the book is better than the blog).

Disclaimer: I eat 'meat and vegetables' ala Primal, although I don't agree with the carb curve. I like Perfect Health Diet and WAPF Lactofermentation a lot.

that one iodine thread got locked, and 10 more were made and are still around somewhere

just like all the potato threads are still up

and all the other peat threads are still up

and the carnivore threads are still up

all choco's posts are still up after all the times he's said he disagrees with mark

all the individual peat posts are probably still up

is anyone missing any numbers on their post counts?
