Sunlight alone does not cause skin cancer: The truth you've never been told
Facts about Sunburn and Skin Cancer - SkinCancer.org
Risk Factors for Skin Cancer | Skin Cancer Prevention

Higher melanin = lower burn risk = lower cancer rates. Get sunburned a lot and you'll probably get skin-cancer. Noone has yet managed to conclusively link non-burn sun exposure to cancer. Of course, ANYONE can get cancer. If you're going to get it, you're going to get it. There's always an element of lifestyle, genetics and chance. Someone with a history of cancer who eats a crap diet, is pale, deficient in vits A or E, who gets brief, intense sun exposure will likely get cancer. But it's hardly the sun that did it. Sun exposure won't give you cancer when all else is in check.

I plan on being shot in the back by a jealous husband in my late 90's, preferably climbing out her window at the time.

I smoked young, I was wickedly obese for many years, I had high BP for most of them and nothing helped it. I have bad arthritis in my knees and lower back.

I also would not mind death by overcoming myself with a young woman in the aforementioned late 90's.

My mother smoked during her pregnancies. I'm sure she had a couple of cocktails, though since my and my brother's IQs were both at the least well above average, I'm not sure of the effect on overall health of her occasional drink.

        I wasn't breast fed.

As an adult, my weight has varied by over 100 pounds more than once.

I smoked from the age of 15 to 40.

When I drink (though it's down to about three times a month), I drink to total fuckedness.

I did the drug du jour from the early 70s to the late 80s. I enjoyed them and indulged frequently.

I indulge in a specific dangerous behavior once a year on my birthday.

Like Warmbear, I also imagine I'll be shot by a jealous husband. Maybe not in my 90s and not climbing out of a window though, since heights are an issue.

What exactly is it that you do that is awesome and useful?

I am unable to guess from the act of reaching out to tools in an industrial chemical.

My bio mom was given DES when she was pregnant with all of us - talk about estrogen dominance - this is horrific actually.
Undiagnosed hypoglycemia and wheat intolerance my entire life, until I found PB
Petit little addiction to crystal meth in the 90's - lasted less than a year but I'm certain this was the capper on my borked chemical soup
As JoanieL said above, I don't drink every night but when I do I drink all of it, all the vodka everywhere
Menopause then brought every single issue right to the front. Gained 50+ pounds, black hole of depression and a host of both physical and mental issues just *BLAM* almost killed me totally dead.

PB has been an absolute miracle for me. I am healthier than I have been in a decade. But I am assuming I cannot reverse ALL of the damage done to/done by me. Mitigating the damage is my only hope.

When I was a security guard, I was posted at a house that sat on land that was paved over a hundred foot deep hole where they buried carcinogenic crap, I was to keep people away so they wouldn't get cancer from the property. Tick Tock...

Just watched a 60 minutes about a young guy who killed himself after becoming depressed while taking roaccutane. Very sad story.

The specialist being interviewed said that it should only be prescribed to treat the most serious types of acne (eg. Acne cysts - probably not the medical term, but how how remembered it) due to risks of depression and suicidal thoughts.

Personally I would stop, but then I've never been in your shoes. Investigate the side effects of what you are taking and if you're concerned discuss them with a health care professional.

Most importantly, imho, if you start to feel depressed and/or suicidal stop taking them immediately and seek help.

wow, is that true ?? I was on that stuff myself for a couple of years (between the age of 15 and 17 or so). I had these weird acne cysts (not the usual kind that shows a white tip, but the painful stuff that stays under the skin and is more spread than a simple pimple). If I had known that it was bad quality dairy mixed up with wheat crap, PUFAs and refined sugar ... I would have stopped that stuff right away. I had strange thoughts during this period, not suicidal or depressed but weird and dark. I always thought it was the normal lot of teenagers ... goddamned drugs ...
