  • Green Tea instead of Coffee - Day 2

    Morning,

So, I'm trying to give up some cream and slenda intake, so I've swapped my 2 or 3 very large morning coffee's with green tea.

It's day 2, and I guess it's too soon to see if there is a difference but what I can notice is the lack of coffee hangover which I had the last time I gave caffeine up.

I've also been having 2 hard boiled eggs for brekkie instead of relying on the CO in my coffee to get me through until lunch. Lunch is home made meatloaf and egg/veg bake!!

I had some rice last night with dinner - poached salmon and veggies with butter. Didn't feel bloated afterwards.

Will let y'all know if the tea makes a difference - I'm hoping it does!!

    Cheers,
    PG!

I'm interested to know how it goes.
Do you miss coffee? Do you feel as awake?
Do you drinK your tea plain?

Looking forward to your posts and seeing how it goes. I'm not a big coffee drinker usually 1 or 2 cups of black first thing in the morning. But have been thinking of giving green tea a try as well.

I miss the thought of coffee more than the coffee itself I'm finding.
I'm drinking the green tea plain.
I feel as awake as I would have before - and I'm noticing a little less bloating, but I think perhaps it's too early to tie the two together - there may be other factors??

Green tea is notorious for helping with bloating I know when I've drunk a lot of it in the past I've lost water weight.

Looking forward to reading your progress!
"I think the basic anti-aging diet is also the best diet for prevention and treatment of diabetes, scleroderma, and the various "connective tissue diseases." This would emphasize high protein, low unsaturated fats, low iron, and high antioxidant consumption, with a moderate or low starch consumption.

In practice, this means that a major part of the diet should be milk, cheese, eggs, shellfish, fruits and coconut oil, with vitamin E and salt as the safest supplements."

So - it's day 4, and not sure if there is any changes....

I really would love to have a coffee, that I know for sure.
I've been having two cups of green tea in the mornings - using only one bag.
I've therefore really cut down on my splenda and cream intake.
Started some magnesium yesterday as my insides were slow and toilet trips were infrequent.
I've had some dark chocolate and a bit of rice this week.
I had fruit yesterday for the first time - melon / grapes / pineapple so I know that was pretty sugary...!

It's the weekend tomorrow and my schedule usually involves an early morning trip to Starbucks to enjoy with my fat plate of bacon and eggs, followed by a long hike, maybe on both days..... I have 1/2 my meatloaf and egg/veg bake left which I threw in the freezer as I won't eat it this weekend.

Hopped on the scales again this morning, and it's resolutely stubborn at 150lbs.... That is over 3 months. Grrr.

I will continue weekday green tea drinking as it's not doing any harm for sure, and I'm feeling a bit less bloated, but I suspect I'll have a coffee tomorrow morning and I'll really enjoy it!
