I also trained as an early childhood educator a few years ago, and am very frustrated with the nz preschool system, so haven't actually been back at work the last couple of years.

                      Awesome! Any hot tips?

I've been an IT desktop/server/application support geek for the last decade or so - trying to transition to real estate, though.

I took a peek at one of your books (the one about famine) - I like your writing style, and you have a facinating approach to writing in that genre!

I too took a look at your books, they look very interesting. I'll be placing them on my goodreads - to read list.

                          • I'm a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist, which means I test hearing for the purposes of dispensing and fitting hearing aids. Been doing this officially for just about a year. Before that, and currently on the side, I am a professional caricature artist and illustrator. I go to weddings, birthdays, and any other event to draw the guests. I also work from photos to create gift caricatures. I'm also a pro face-painter and airbrush artist.

After my baby is born around Christmas, I am throwing myself back into the art biz.

I'm curious, how did you get into that? Is it anything like VC in the states? How much regulation or accreditation do you have to deal with?
