  • A Cancer Prevention Study

So I know this is going to come off pretty spammy, but I figured I'd throw this link around wherever I could.

The ACS is doing a gigantic bit of research into cancer prevention, and it needs a lot of people to do it.

I'm excluded from the research as a cancer survivor, but I am enthusiastic about it more than I ever will be about pink ribbons, fundraisers, or facebook memes. Large sample size research is a game changing thing, as most of you are very aware.

If you feel so inclined, and don't mind donating your time and some vials of blood, check it out here: Participate Cancer Prevention Study-3 | American Cancer Society

It's going on in most states, and there's plenty of resources for you to find participating institutions.

If mods feel this is an inappropriate use of the forum, please delete this post and accept my most sincere apologies.

This is an awesome use of the forum. Not at all inappropriate. This kind of info should get out as much as possible.

Why do they not want cancer survivors as participants? Curious since I am one too.

I think they aren't looking for those who have survived cancer because this is purely a cancer prevention study for those who have not had it.
My appt is Oct 8th. Thank you for posting this. I don't think I would have known about it if you hadn't.

I tried to join this but they refuse to make an appointment during any time I am awake. So, no. :P

Aren't you in the Portland, Oregon area? It's all over the place.

My state isn't on the list either, but since I've already had cancer, I can't participate either. If there was a center close, I'd see if husband would do it. Oh well.
