  • Hair things

Today I saw a woman who had these colorful things braided into her hair so that it appeared she had long purple and orange hair, kind of in chunks. Most of her hair was just her normal straight long hair. The things in her hair didn't look like hair exactly, more like dreadlocks but not like real hair. What do you call that? How long does it last? Do you get it done somewhere? I was thinking it would be a fun thing to do with my own hair.

Braided hair extensions? They last for about 3 weeks typically, before you need to get them replaced.

Theres some yarn/felt bits you can get. To braid/clip into your hair?
Try looking up felt hair exstentions. Or wool dreadlocks

i do it with mine whenever im in the mood- easy, cheap DIY
the easiest way to attach them is to twist some of your own hair into a tiny bun then secure the fall to it using plastic hair ties then spread them. take out an reuse for ages -you occasionally need to tighten them by rewinding and you wash them gently unattached to your hair- this is the effect of bun attached falls http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MERMAID-GR...item4ac58e9c79

I guess it was the wool extensions because it was more like individual strands and the woman didn't have her hair up at all. I wonder if you can get this done in a salon.

Yes! I ordered some. They look easy to apply myself. I have never done anything all that fun to my hair before so this should be fun, hopefully.

they are loads of fun; what colours did you get?
I used to dye my hair a lot but was advised since this cancer business to avoid it as much as possible so use the falls if i want something a bit different
