  • Your favourite comedies?

Laughing is good for our health right? So I'm making a list of the most hilarious comedies to watch. Off the top of my head I've got:

    - The Big Lebowski
    - Anchor Man
    - Blades of Glory
    - Birdcage
    - Coming to America
    - Monty Python: Life of Brian
    - Monty Python: Quest for the Holy Grail
    - The Princess Bride
    - Shaun of the Dead (British Zombie film)
    -

(and ones I'd class as most overrated)

    - The Royal Tenenbaums
    - Little Miss Sunshine
    - The Hangover
    - Some Like it Hot

    What about you?
"I think the basic anti-aging diet is also the best diet for prevention and treatment of diabetes, scleroderma, and the various "connective tissue diseases." This would emphasize high protein, low unsaturated fats, low iron, and high antioxidant consumption, with a moderate or low starch consumption.

In practice, this means that a major part of the diet should be milk, cheese, eggs, shellfish, fruits and coconut oil, with vitamin E and salt as the safest supplements."

All Wes Anderson is overrated, Kevin Smith too.

I'd add Airplane, Top Secret, This is Spinal Tap and the original Bedazzled.

Also an underappreciated classic: The Loved One with Jonathan Winters. It's based on an Evelyn Waugh novel, directed by Tony Richardson, and the screenplay is by Terry Southern and Christopher Isherwood.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

                      DROP DEAD FRED DEFINITELY!

                      Run Ronnie Run!?

Also how has no one said Parenthood (the 90s movie with Steve Martin) and also My Blue Heaven?!

The Burbs didn't make the list?

Everyone needs to see Hamlet 2 above all.
"Ah, those endless forests, and their horror-haunted gloom! For what eternities have I wandered through them, a timid, hunted creature, starting at the least sound, frightened of my own shadow, keyed-up, ever alert and vigilant, ready on the instant to dash away in mad flight for my life. For I was the prey of all manner of fierce life that dwelt in the forest, and it was in ecstasies of fear that I fled before the hunting monsters."

                        I love Parenthood!

I also like Clue and A League of Their Own when I'm watching with friends; something about both of those leaves us with jokes all night.

When Harry Met Sally is another favorite of mine.

                            In no particular order:

                            Harold and Maude
                            Hudson Hawk
                            Airplane
                            Caddyshack
La Cage aux Folles try this. I saw this before Birdcage was made and almost peed laughing.
The Philadelphia Story (Honorable mention: Bringing Up Baby)
                            Anything with Mae West
                            Fast Times at Ridgemont High
                            Beverly Hills Cop
                            48 Hours
                            Arthur
Blazing Saddles (and just about anything Mel Brooks)
                            Young Frankenstein
                            A Fish Called Wanda
                            Raising Arizona
                            Back to School
                            It Happened One Night

                            Honorable mention:
                            Shrek
                            Tootsie
                            Ghostbusters
Dogma, though its almost too thought provoking to be a comedy LOL
                            Heaven Can Wait

                            Ack there are too many!

Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.
