    Yes, that's true. Even when there are new apples available, our stores are filled with old apples.

      op: you live on the east coast, right? when did apple harvest end here? even if your market was still selling local apples, they'd be at least 7 months old.

      As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.

        we buy local/seasonal, so. . . yeah. easy enough to avoid.

          i definitely limit fruit to local and in-season. frozen berries being my only exception.

          however, if i only ate local, i'd never get to have avocados or lemons.
