Good work, Trish! You made another person!

      She's adorable, btw.
Today I will: Eat food, not poison. Plan for success, not settle for failure. Live my real life, not a virtual one. Move and grow, not sit and die.

Aww, congratulations! She is very nom nom!!

Was she suctioned? if so, you may find she has some oral issues and needs lots of holding to heal the emotional trauma. My last bub was suctioned cos she was a lightning fast birth and I was barely conscious so she came out in shock. Her oral issues were so bad I scored a decent bout of trauma induced vasospasm and had to hold the poor darling almost non stop the first year or so. She's a very confident, happy and healthy 6 yr old so worth it Hope this doesn't happen to you of course.

Oh, wow! Sounds just like my delivery with my first!! She is now 16 and soooo happy, but yeah, I did have to put in a LOT of time that way. I just have never connected the two... Thanks!

                    Congratulations! How sweet.

A funny sibling story. My husband and his younger brother (three years apart) are very very close. They talk to each other several times a day. My mother-in-law says that when younger brother was a week old or so, my husband asked her--Ok Mom. We have played with this baby and I am done. Can we throw him into the garbage now?

My husband gets "pretend" mad when someone tells this story. He cannot believe that he would ever say something like that about his little brother

Anyway, congratulations again! Siblings are awesome people!

Nope! No interventions other than an epidural. Doc was super gentle getting her out. She did have some breathing complications initially and had to be put on a c-pap machine for an hour or so after birth to help open her lungs. Also she had gunk in her stomach and did not nurse for the first 6 hours after birth, despite our best efforts (kept trying and trying, and we made her super pissy at one point, lol). After a stomach pumping she was good to go and is a champ at nursing (hard core latch and suck). 4 days old and I'm already bruised & blistered. Milk is in, though, and I estimate I've already produced 6 oz today. I pumped this morning and got an ounce from each side and had just fed her not too long before, and she had several feedings prior to that one.
Also can I just comment on how proud I am of my milk? It's as gold as grass fed butter. It reminds me of egg nog or frozen custard base.
My mom made us breakfast this morning. She's not used to all of our "weird food" and accidentally put kefir in our scrambled eggs. It was really good though! And I'm really happy to be upping my raw milk consumption. Was careful with it during pregnancy due to elevated concern for contamination and stuff (better safe than sorry, even though I'm pretty darn confident in the farm it comes from. They always post the test results for the current batch right next to the fridge where it's kept at the store).
Nothing motivates you to eat right like nursing a newborn!

Oh and I smell like an almond joy candy bar between the coconut oil I'm using to help with Annee beating me up and palmer's body butter (cacao based) to help my post baby belly bounce back
