Andy went home to take Grace to school and run some errands (getting me some berries and cream to go with my breakfast-- yum!) Annee whisked off to nursery for vitals check. Catching some hang time on here. She had some minor complications (arithmia and breathing issue) that had her in NICU for an hour or two after birth, and by the time they got her to me she was too sleepy to nurse. Spent at least 2 hours trying to get her to latch on, but she would just sit there and not suck (or get super angry and turn red and scream like "MOOOOOOM, LEAVE ME ALONE!" which cracked me up. I'm mean like that). Sweetest little self soothing coos when she's upset. Finally she puked up some awesomeness all over Andy, and they took her to nursery to pump her tummy. Guess who wanted to feed after that! Spent most of the night snuggling and catching up on feeding. She's doing great now.
Oh, wait! You're not gonna slow down on your fat-bomb recipe posting, are you? Hope that wasn't the pregnancy making that happen .
Heck no! I need that fat now more than ever. Miss Chunk-a-lunk (Annee) has to get CHUNKIER!
In fact, Andy went home this morning to take Grace to school and I told him to get me some heavy cream while he was out.
The hospital food is decent and you'd all be pleased to know I've been able to stay fairly primal. Dinner last night was honey pecan chicken with steamed carrots and a fruit platter. For breakfast I had a cheese and veggie omelette with a side of fruit and milk. Not sure what I'll have for lunch today. The kitchen always seems surprised when I don't order more than 25g carbs at a meal. At dinner last night, they were like "and what else you want?" cuz my dinner was 50g carb and they wanted me to have 100. Andy told them I try to stay around 50g for the day and that dinner right there was a feast. They were rather impressed.
I'll enjoy it for a while. My mom is coming to stay with us for a month. She gets here on Saturday. I'm eager to do more things for myself, though. The spirit is willing, but the body is currently weak and spongy lol

Morning! Rough night last night. We figured out that her mad cluster feeding/pacifying was gas related. After some adult sized burps and toots, she started acting like a sweet newborn again. Looking forward to taking her home today. She's got the feeding down like a pro already. Great latch, strong suck. Can't wait for my milk to officially come in. It will be uncomfortable, but she's going to be super happy after successfully sucking me dry on one side and blistering the other yesterday. Grace got to meet her yesterday, and while she did not wish to hold her, she was very keen on stroking her head and loving on her. Special thanks to Janelle for taking Grace last night to her first sleep over (at her "boyfriend's" house, no less-- cuz that's how we roll, lol). I was just going to send Andy home, but was so grateful he was here to help out!
Annee does the cutest little open-mouth tongue clicking thing when she's hungry (like she's feeding already)
