  • Really bad tooth staining

I have really bad tooth staining on the inside of my teeth - not the outside ... I am fairly sure it is coming from eating berries ... Does anyone have solutions for this, besides going to the dentist?

    Thanks!
feel free to take a look at my journal!

I've heard great things about oil pulling.

ahaha i just started doing that again ... TODAY. I've been browsing through the forums, reading up on it again. I did it around an year ago, but I got lazy :P

Does coconut oil actually help STAINING or just reduces plaque/bacteria?

I've always heard gargling with hydrogen peroxide once or twice a day works on stains, but I've never actually tried it. I'm impressed you can even see the inside of your teeth that well!

...although I've never actually tried so maybe mine are just as stained and I've never noticed...

Actually, baking soda is less abrasive than a lot of commercial whitening toothpastes. I gargle with a diluted peroxide solution and brush with baking soda.

My experience with oil pulling is that it results in noticeable stain removal. My guess to how this works is that some stains are hydrophilic and some are hydrophobic.

Activated charcoal is apparently very good at removing teeth stains (I have yet to try it myself as I have to go and buy some). You make it into a paste and then brush it on. Whiten Your Teeth Naturally With No Dangerous Chemicals

Oil pulling with CO has dramatically whitened my teeth. I also brush with a paste of CO, baking soda, and peppermint oil. The trick is to brush much more gently with the baking soda. Flossing is also important!
