  • Anyone thought of putting egg nog in their crio instead of cream this month? Or maybe some coquito

    • If I started putting Coquito (just looked up the recipe) in my coffee or crio, I'd have start walking 20 miles per day. I do, however make Bullet Proof Mexicans (BP coffee with tequila), or when flying on the cheap, BP Russians (vodka instead of tequila).

May I ask what the difference is between Crio Bru and just making hot cocoa with water instead of a milk/cream/coconut product?

Who says back fat is a bad thing? Maybe on a hairy guy at the beach, but not on a crab.

Crio Bru is not hot cocoa. It's the chocolate equivilent of coffee. Very deep and sometimes bitter. I believe hot cocoa still has the cacao butter in it, while crio is made from roasted, ground up nibs.

          • After reading this thread, I ordered the Cavalla and I tried it today. I loved it. Move over, coffee! All of the coffee-drinking adults on my Christmas list are getting some. Thanks, everyone!

I can't tell you how many new things I have tried since going Primal in June and 95% have been winners.
As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again.

            • Hello. I know I am late getting here. I am the creator of brewed cocoa and the founder of Crio Bru. I am pleased to see that so many people here LOVE Crio as much as I do. It is a passion in my house. I would love to answer any questions that may arise. My personal favorites are Maracaibo and Coca River but people love Cavalla also. My favorite way is to brew it for 10-15 minutes and then grind up some of the grounds in my blender and add it the cup. It makes it very rich and delicious. A little cream and it's heaven. I also use the used grounds in smoothies, as a hand scrub, make brownies with them, put them in yogurt... you name it. Make sure to use the Crio Bru to its fullest!

              • I like the Maracaibo, too. I just boil the grounds then pour it into a French press with some coffee. Drink it black. Makes the house smell like chocolate.

                  • How about getting it into some retail outlets like Peet's or Starbucks. Us lazy folk would appreciate it.

Got a new order recently and included was two taster sized Vega Real. I think it may take the place as my favourite. Thank you.

                      • I have been using cocoa nibs (roasted cocoa beans), grinding them a bit more.. and love it. I think its just like your crio bru.
