  • Congratulations Gwamma! I think you're a beast.

(And seaweed the training world needs more people like you! I worked at a gym (front desk lol) with some incredibly intelligent, cognizant trainers. They were awesome coworkers.)

    • I love my little cheer leading squad........frank you frank you frank you for. L your good wishes.
Hey and guess what , my arm is not quite so sore this a.m., i still cannot straighten it, but its not as sore, so yay for me.
I cannot believe how well this whole 30 is going, althou i need a few more ideas for snacks. I was really peckish last night, but stuck with an extra apple and some raw cashews.

      • can you have some berries, cherries or stone fruit as a snack G? they are all so good right now. I got some plumcots from the farmer's market which are a plum x apricot and they are divine. still at home this morning. it was so windy when i got up that i didn't fancy the beach in a sand storm again. i will go later or do the block at lunch and then run the dog this evening.

        • Wow, G - that's a hell of a workout (from one unfit gwamma to another) and exactly why I don't think I could go to a PT. Great weight loss, though!!

I'm really ticklish, too - but have found that it's mostly because of slight soreness/sensitivity. When I have a massage it progresses from ticklish to sore very quickly, then as they work through it it starts to feel really relaxed. I haven't had a massage in ages, so this whole conversation has started me wanting one!!

Today is the first 'back to normal' day for me - work has started, but yesterday I had to go to town and spend the day racing around doing catch-up stuff. Today the house is quiet and I have the whole day ahead of me. The question is, do I focus on reading/writing, or take a 'me' day?? Decisions, decisions

          • take a ME day Jac, they are good for the soul !!!!!!
I do have a few berries Seas, and so I might factor them in. I haven't eaten this many veges and fruit for a long time, and am actually enjoying the change.
The wee kittens are now about three weeks old, and wobbling around the garage. If I introduce them into the house, our other two cats will start peeing and pooping all over, and I so cannot be bothered with that. they are happy in the garage, its all lined and warm and cosy.
If anyone wants one...... I am sure we can send it NZ wide !!!!!!!!
I know that with the whole 30 you are not meant to weigh, however its a habit that I cannot stop - just yet. So another .4kg down over night. Is it water weight, or muscles continuing to work after the workout !!!!!!!
            I find all this n = 1 stuff fascinating........when it works.
I will try for a massage at some stage, however it would take a bit to stop me jumping at any little touch - but its on the 2014 to do list.
off for a walk in a minute..............

              • Second (third? Seventh?) the massage. If it's in your arms, you can probably give yourself a massage/rubdown after working out. Repeat after the broken soldier: tight muscles are baaaaad!

                • Epsom salt baths or massage in the spa pool! and it is more fun to get someone else to massage you. you will relax more. i'm still not getting the tickling thing. my massage people all do deep tissue so there's none of that girly stroking which tickles at all. some times i do come out feeling like I've done a few rounds with mike Tyson and lost but i always feel better the next day.

                  • My arm isn't too bad tonight, have stretched it lots today, and so something is working !!!!
off for some shut eye now. DH has his next cancer cut out of his shoulder tomorrow morning at 8.30am. This one is another basal cell cancer, so not a huge big deal, althou he will need to rest it for a week or two.
His chin has healed really nicely but is quite deformed. DH is a little self conscious, and I noticed tonight when we had visitors that he was covering it up with his hand. Not sure how to tackle that one, Its very tight, as you can imagine dragging the skin from his neck up onto his chin to cover the hole that was left, but I think it looks great, considering what he has endured over the last few months.
anyway team have the best sleep, and I shall annoy you after the surgery
                    good night

                      • Hope all goes well for Gwampa's op tomorrow. I like Doc's suggestion of a beard, though only a small elegant one .. unless you want to kiss a pirate.

                        • Somewhere there was a great discussion on scars and insecurity and how they signify surviving great hardship. A well groomed beard is nice, but this man's about to be a cancer survivor. That deserves a damn medal in my book. (And a second for the wife who puts up with it.)

I had a large non cancerous lump chopped out of my face about 18 months ago, I forked out $1500 to get a plastic surgeon remove it privately. No way I'd let any of those yahoo's in the public health system touch my face! Thankfully we found out afterwards that our health insurance were happy to pay for it because we had no way of knowing if it was cancerous until it was removed and they didn't seem to mind that it had cost so flippin much for a two centimetre cut. Was worth every cent though, and I'd happily pay for it even if my insurance wouldn't cover it. I have a very faint line on my face now and no skin puckering or dents and mostly I don't even see it when I look in the mirror.

My good news of the week is that I've lost 3kg in the last 9 days! Worth the effort I think.

                              • Hey thanx guys. Yes a beard would be great, Gwamma quite likes certain facial hair, but alas DH does not enjoy facial hair.
The surgery went well. The specialist took an eye shaped cut about 4 inches long, so hopefully thats another one sorted. I think it takes about a week for this one to be tested and hopefully no more cut out.
I am finding with life that I take 2 steps forward and about 3 steps back !!!!!!!!!! The latest is DHs cholesterol is through the roof, and he is constantly chipping away at me about salt and butter etc....... However what crap is he eating with his margarine, processed food etc....... So i suggested that i put all his food through the fitday for one day to see just how much sodium he is consuming and compare i to me adding salt to my natural food. I will do that later, but we get home and he's straight into the freezer to consume 1/2 ltr of ice cream !!!!!!!!!!
Oh well at least he has let me make him some scroggin for a snack during the day.
LL way to go on the weight loss............. The knives are out.................. I love me a competition !!!!!!
I have thirty kgs to lose total, 2 down, whats your number L L ??????
