    What do you think Grok did when he woke up in the middle of the night & couldn't get back to sleep? (given a circumstance of also having no desire to mate or hunt at the particular time)

    Looked at the stars. Revelled in the quiet. Went and hung out with the folks who were staying awake to guard the tribe. Lit a fire and decorated his cave. Invented language, and then wrote a poem. Lay in the grass and sang or hummed. Smoked something. Revelled in the quiet.

      Go club something out of annoyance that they can't sleep. Or maybe that's just me.

        LOL. My brain was sleepy, my eyes were sleepy, my inner me... not sleepy. Didn't want to wake anyone else up either.

          this is probably pretty accurate. i imagine early humans obeyed the body's need for sleep rather than the modern recommendation of 8 hours uninterrupted sleep.
