Can't see it though to be honest. England played well against France, but defended atrociously in the other two games against Sweden and Ukraine. They won those games anyway, but won't win if they defend like that against Italy or Germany.

The good thing about Italy is (for England) that they are quite wasteful themselves with their chances and have trouble with reactive teams that counter a lot.

      ^ 5, SoccerGrok for both predicting 2:0 Spain:France.

OK, I'm going to plump for 1:1 Italy:England tomorrow at full time. Or 0:0 even. But Italy to win. Daren't go watch this in a pub as I shall be cheering on Italy and that might not go down too well.

Spain done pretty much what was expected, and the result was no surprise.

Tomorrow's game is a hard one to call. England do often tend do raise their game according to the reputation of the opposition. Close match = England win *fingerscrossedemoticon*
          All the best!

I don't seem to remember pubs becoming unusually aggressive at such times; in-yer-face banter, yes, but that works both ways. And women ususually have better put downs, particularly, for your average football fan.

True - it's just I can get quite animated when Italy score. I'd prefer the atmosphere of an Italian bar tbh. Anyway, I hope England do us proud and that it's an entertaining match. I will probably be cheering when both sides score, if they do ... let's hope so

That's what happens when you have people being racist and celebrating convicted war criminals.

Yep it had to go to penalties didn't it.

But ooh yeh ... way to go Buffon and Pirlo. Italy deserved to win tonight.

                        Yea, shitty game though.

What is it, Germany Italy now?

Germany will hang 6 goals on them

Deserved to win yes. But why are we so shit at pens.

                          Can't see Italy beating Germany.

Yeah, I think most called it, 'a close boring draw.' Italy deserved winners: but what is it with England and penalties?

Crazy game. Italy clearly dominated but couldn't capitalize. Germany/Italy will be a great game. Italy will have to step up a bit thoughif they don't want to get trampled!!! Love these guys

Pirlo is unreal, buffon is a beast. The end.

Currently watching Seattle vs Portland. Cant seem to get enough these days

Yes it was a pretty boring match. Italy and England are both hot on defense. Hence my prediction.

Dado - I promise you that if Germany beat Italy with a six goal difference, I will eat my hat live on Mark's Daily Apple, along with 6 lbs of potatoes.

Italy are perfectly capable of beating Germany. Not claiming that they will though. I backed them to win the World Cup in 2006, and they nailed it. I watched them beat the Czech Republic in a bar in Umbria in the early stages and the atmosphere was amazing.
