    W00t!!! MINE!
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

Even wearing a 6 1/2 can be a royal pain. Nobody ever has my size in the shoes I WANT!

Wearing size 6 is a royal pain in the ass, because everything's either made for a kid, a little old lady, or a skanky ho that has a complex about her height. Finding tasteful, well made, age appropriate shoes is rarer than hen's teeth.

Me too, sistah. At larger sizes, shoes that look so dainty and cute on the shelve (in the size 7 demos) turn into hideous clown shoe monstrosities.

I found out that the stores will only order one or two pairs of the smaller sizes (and I guess the larger sizes), but bunches of the 7, 8, and 9s and their half sizes. The first person with small feet (and large) to come in gets their size and the rest of us are SOL. I even have problems at DSW. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to fit into a 7, especially since my feet have widened from wearing barefoot style for the past year and a half. Occasionally I can find the size I want online, but it's a crap shoot and I end up more often than not returning the shoes cuz I don't like how they fit.

Makes me want to scream sometimes...my bf has huge feet as well and refers to his shoes as canoes. lol

Those of you with small feet may be able to help me I've worked out (from a conversion site) that I'd be a size 5.5? US (so I know which shoe to buy online when faced with American sizing). Is anyone else this size? How long is your foot? I'm 22cm, which converts to ok not sure in inches?

What is the sizing under inches called? On my tape measure, there's 14 lines between 8 and 9 inches, and 22cm sits closest to the 10th one. 10/14ths? Oh, which is 5/7ths? (Lordy, imperial is sooo much trickier than metric!)

I am a size 5.5 US and let me tell you it sucks royally because most store don't even order this size. My foot is 22cm long, but a lot of the time I'll go for shoes that are 23cm because I happen to have a barely wider foot than average (this is something you REALLY need to consider when ordering shoes because buying shoes that are to tight and aren't real leather can make them unwearable.)

If you are lucky your foot will be on the wide side (maybe a C or D) and you can wear size 6 with only a little discomfort. I sold shoes for 4.5 years in a department store (US) I don't think I ever encountered what it was in inches.

Lyanna - everything you said was right the average store gets in maybe one or two of the 6-6.5 shoes and only one of a 9-10 range (there usually isn't a 9.5) and then the rest is a huge number of the in between because it is statically the most common shoe size range. To make things worse only 1-2 stores will actually order 11s or 12s in women's shoes and then the 1 will order 5.5

                        Thanks! Good to have confirmation

I'm of English heritage and it shows in my feet. Slim little things they are My almost 13 yr old passed my shoe size about this time last year LOL I currently buy size 5 (in Aussie sizing, I'm a 4.5) and the darn things are like wearing my mum's shoes, slip around underneath me. I'd love shoes that fit!

Bron- you can buy little pads to put in the shoes if you need to to eat up space, that is what I do in a lot of my shoes I mainly get the ones that are extra padding for the back of my heels because when my shoes don't fit they rip my heels to shreds. Maybe look into those I know most big chain stores will have them, if you have a JcPenney sometimes you'll run into a sweet clerk who will give you a pair for free (I used to do that all the time because well, we had a big box of them in the back why not give them out?)
