  • Running Flat footed but Not Flat footed?

My daughter is 15 and plays sports but when she is running in basketball she runs flat footed it really delays her speed and balance and looks funny any suggestions?

Tell her she's a bum and hits like a bum. Then have her chase around a chicken.

Suggest she spend more time barefoot. She'll learn to pick up her heels. Basketball shoes in particular tend to be awful, with tons of cushioning and ankle support that totally deaden the foot-ground connection and cut down on mobility.

But she's 15, so good luck getting her to listen to anything you say, LOL.

That's the funniest thing I've read this year. Thanks!

I also think the barefoot suggestion may work - but true barefoot not vibrams. I've seen too many people be able to still run incorrectly in vibrams, but you can't when you are really barefoot.

What do you mean running flat footed? Is it pigeon toedness or just pronated knees (rotated inwards)?
