  • Fri 11/11 - Whole Chickens on Sale at Whole Foods $1.29/#

Whole organic chickens are on sale at Whole Foods Friday November 11 for $1.29/#.

I bought 10 last time and they were they best tasting chickens I have eaten in years.

The butchers happily cut them in half for me which helps greatly for portion control, or for ease of cooking on the grill.

(Now about buying that freezer I've been wanting to get...)

So looking fwd to this...probably will pick up 4 birds (that will allow for additional meat in the deep freezer!) I'm getting up tomorrow, feeding myself & Kids then dragging them to WFM to pick up some birds!!!

The chickens that are on sale at Whole Foods tomorrow are not Organic. They are ABF (antibiotic free) and free range, but not Organic. Still a great deal though! Also another thing to note is that they are on sale across the county so it does nit matter where you live in the US you will be able to find them on sale at your local Whole Foods

Aww man, and just in time to pick the UD2 back up. No dark meat for me. I've never bought an organic chicken and it looks like this time won't be my first That's a GREAT deal considering conventional chicken goes on sale for $0.99/lb.

Roast it. That's not just for turkeys, even this time of year. Then, after you've eaten then meat, use the carcass for soup.

Google Engagement Chicken and follow the recipe. I prefer to use limes rather than lemons. Super simple and comes out perfectly every time.

The husband brought home four of these chickens. My freezer isn't large, so I didn't think we'd be able to hold more than that. Now after seeing them I wish I would have asked for six or seven.

Anyhoo... one went into the oven right away. I made a variation of this: Chive Butter Chicken. I think I am now raising little Groklings! Both kids asked for seconds! Who are these little people?!?

The best news: I finally convinced him... the husband is out right now picking up a new-to-me deep freezer! :-D

Easy, sprinkle with Tony Chacere's seasoning, bake.

Or your could butcher it and cook it the same way you cook other pieces which is my fav way to do it. It lasts longer. Freeze the carcass for chicken stock.
