  • Nigella Lawson vs Gillian McKeith

    Stumbled across this on Facebook:

yeah yeah, I know it's unfair, but still chuckle-worthy. I'm a fan of Nigella Lawson and had never heard of Gillian McKeith before.

before i found primal, when i was still whole grain and smart balance butter, i'd watch gillian's show on bbc america

she's a vegetarian who would go to people's houses and empty their fridges, look at their tongues and smell their poo

then she put them on a vegetarian and exercise plan, the only things i can remember specifically are the rainbow of veggies and chickpea burgers

but holy lord at the difference...
    beautiful
    yeah you are

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.
    lol

Yeah, the difference is huge. Like I said, it's unfair, I don't know what external (internal) factors there are, but I know who I'd rather be more like when I'm 51. Also, I have the most ridiculously huge crush on Nigella.

Also, I know she's not even close to being primal. But I love the joy she has in her food. She's rounded but so comfortable in her skin. That sort of joyful exuberance is attractive to me.

I love Nigella but have Gillian's book. I know that Nigella grew up in a well to do family while Gillian was very very unhealthy in her native Scotland until her mid-20s. That's when she found her new lifestyle through a seminar in the US.

Like her a lot, but she'd be quite a feeder!

I don't know. Gillian may look worse, but she looks like a typical 51 yr old. Perhaps a bit more weathered than the usual. Nigella has a bit of that plastic surgery/botox look to her. Maybe it's just the makeup, lighting, and photo retouching. Hands down, she looks great, but nothing I would realistically aim for when I'm 51.
I'm retraining and strengthening my taste buds, one primal meal at a time.

How did I guess that quelsen would make an appearance in a Nigella thread?
