  • Energizer Bunny On Speed

I've been primal now for exactly 31 days. No cheats.
    I also have adrenal fatigue.
Over the last few days, I've literally bounced out of bed. I feel like I'm bouncing off the walls with energy.

My question is: I've avoided any exercise beyond a brisk walk for fear of overdoing it with the adrenals. Now with all this energy, I can't get to sleep at night. When I do fall asleep, I wake up less than 6 hours later ready to "run the quarter mile". Mark says to add weights but I'm not overly familiar with weights or strength training in general. Would it "tucker me out"?" I can't even believe I'm asking that. As I sit here, I feel like I'm vibrating with energy. Kinda like when my little shih-tzu starts running circles in the backyard at top speed. That's how I feel.

As a side note, for 31 days Primal I am down 13.8 lbs and 21.5 inches. I had to check and recheck the measurements. Thought I had the tape twisted up or something.. The bulk of those inches came off the three middle measurements in the waist (natural waist, belly button (mostly here) and hips)).

Congrats on slimming down and all the energy!

Adrenals require large amounts of Vitamins B and C and cholesterol. Primal eating will get you lots of that, so as long as you're getting proper sleep and not being a stress junkie, your adrenals should take care of themselves.

The fact that you are now bouncing out of bed in the morning seems like clear evidence that your adrenals have no problem doing their job. Sounds like your adrenal fatigue is pretty well cured to me.

So why not put that energy to work on some really heavy weights? With all your newfound energy I think you'll really enjoy that.

I always want a nap after lifting weights, so you might try it!

Yes, lifting will definitely get you tuckered out. A heavy workout in the late afternoon/evening, a hearty meal of Primal starch and protein, and I am off to sleep very quickly.
Today I will: Eat food, not poison. Plan for success, not settle for failure. Live my real life, not a virtual one. Move and grow, not sit and die.

Don't let the unfamiliarity with weights and strength training keep you away from lifting. Mark is right about it. Do it 3 times a week for 45 min or at your own schedule and in several weeks you will ask yourself how you lived without it for all those years.

Don't feel intimidated by lifting. Watch some youtube tutorials on how to do basic moves and just start doing it. After a while as you gain more experience you will notice what works, how it works, and how much you need.

I usually workout between 9 pm - 10:30 pm. On my way back home I have so much energy I could move mountains. By the time it's time to hit the sack around midnight, I usually crawl into bed and sleep like a stone. Weight lifting will definitely bring balance to your life.
