  • Coconut oil discount on Amazon

Just a heads up that there's a coupon code (good through the end of October) for 10-25% off Nutiva nut and seed oil products at Amazon (see the details in the link below). You can bet we'll be stocking up on coconut oil (can't beat $12.96 for 30 ounces).

Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 15-Ounce Tubs (Pack of 2): Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food

    Enjoy.

in case you don't want to buy in bulk, have limited storage space, etc. you can "subscribe" to this at $7.07 a container with free shipping and you get a new jar shipped each month automatically.

Yeah and Amazon's subscribe feature is great.

            You can either:

            - Subscribe to something at a reduced price, with free shipping, set up a time for deliveries (ie: once a month/two months/6months/etc) and forget about having to buy that item.

            or

            - Subscribe at reduced price, free shipping, etc, then if you don't want the item again you can cancel prior to your next subscription (they send you a heads up email and give you the option to post-pone or cancel) .... and get the item cheaper and with free shipping, as opposed to going through the regular process, paying more for the item, and pay for shipping. It doesn't look like they've wised up to this yet, and of course it's only useful for items with this feature, which most edibles seem to be.

There is no such thing as "extra virgin" coconut oil, even though some jars are labeled as such. Yes, it's organic.

(Info on grades of coconut oil available from Tropical Traditions website.)

Sorry; all young coconuts are kissed during the harvest. (Please don't make me explain how "expeller pressed" coconut oil is processed.)
