Too funny, I went to a parochial middle school and we had this book called "Man In Demand." We learned valuable things like not to hang a sweater on door knob because it distorts the sweater, whether to use a comb or brush on your hair. and of course the usual lessons about purity and self-control.
"But the question is, are you going to die sitting on the sofa - or doing something interesting?"

"Kharma means I can rest easy at night, knowing all those people I treated badly today really had it coming!"
i totally agree with "how can you demand a woman come to marriage pure, but not come into the marriage clean yourself." This is part of my qualm with that whole "alpha male" crew. i have often said "dudes, you want a chaste woman, but will not be chaste yourselves. what gives?" and all i get are "men are different!" and such. or "that's just the way it is."
no, it isn't. this document actually has some decent points. I mean IF someone is demanding that of a gal, then freakin' demand it of yourself.
Masturbation is bad, yes, but not for the screwed up american reasons. It's bad because it temporarily lowers testosterone without the benefit of being sex.
In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.
the advice to abstain makes a lot of sense from a health standpoint. remember, they didn't have condoms, and doctors weren't trained as well in diagnostics. were i a woman in that era, i wouldn't have married a man who wasn't a virgin out of concern for a VD.
