  • Those "Only When You're Primal" moments...

So I had an embarrassing one this morning. Our dishwasher drain and our sink drain both got blocked. We had the apartment maintenance people in... the blockage was congealed grease.

    Oops!
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.

People really shoudn't be draining fat down the drain; use an old coffee can or jar or whatever for old grease and then toss it in the trash before taking it out.

i worryy about the amount of fat that goes down our drain. if a pot or something has a thick layer of grease on it, then i wipe it down. BUT it's not uncommon for a large number of dishes to have a small amount of fat on it. think vinaigrette on a salad plate, grease from a hamburger, tiny bit of sour cream or mayo, etc. i occasionally run hot water down the drain. so far so good.

Ugh. We've not yet had problems, but when we got our trailer it was nearly perfect...until we realized we couldn't get the gross smell out of the sink. Turns out the previous people that owned it were probably dumping grease down the drain. I couldn't afford to pay anyone so I fixed it myself.

I never want to take apart the pipes and have to scrub grease and mold and rotted food out of them ever again. I was pretty sure I was gonna die.

If I've got a large amount we usually just wipe it out after it's congealed a bit, I don't usually have extra containers lying around to put the liquid in. This was however, never a problem when we ate out nearly all the time...so yeah, I'd say it might be a Primal thing.

No, she laughed about it. Just said "Use LOTS of hot water when you are washing greasy dishes so that this doesn't happen again."

So do we; this is just what's left in the pan after it's all been dished out and eaten. Never a lot, but apparently enough!

Get a dog, end of problem! Our lab mix, Miss Kitty, will leave the pots and pans and dishes cleaner than clean.
