They say the Paleo diet is pretty much unstudied and so they can't judge whether it had any effects on key factors like weight loss or diabetes. But they said it was "probably" bad because it cut out grains and dairy. Thats pretty unscientific.
I don't know about everyone else, but I am totally shocked to see the government sanctioned DASH diet at number one. </sarcasm>
I read the list. I lol'd.
The gov'ment wants us to eat 45-65% of our diet in carbs?! I never really read the anointed list before, but... wow. I'm not big on conspiracies, but you'd almost have to want to purposely kill people to suggest that...
Of course they hate us. We actually deliver on what we promise. The other ones don't.
Yeah, it's tough to make loads of money on a diet plan that works. Weight Watchers franchises (and other diet centres I expect) are sold partly because people keep coming back over and over and over. How many people have you met who are doing Slimfast, WW, Jenny, or whatever plan for a second (or third, or fourth...) time because it worked for them last time?

"While its focus on veggies and lean meat is admirable, experts couldn't get past the fact that entire food groups, like dairy and grains, are excluded on Paleo diets. 'The risk of nutrient deficiency is real, unless the person takes a multivitamin,' one panelist commented. Here, its rating lagged a full two or more stars behind many other diets."
Wow... You can get all the vitamins and minerals you you need by eating fruits/veggies/meat, but for some reason the lack of grains and dairy requires a multivitamin? Totally illogical. *facepalm*
