• Is humble pie primal.....?

OK, so I 'left' on Monday. I was having a very bad few days (still not quite better yet) and feeling very sensitive, up and down and generally not myself.

The penny only dropped this morning. I've been taking and am now coming off, codeine and valium, because of my ruptured disc. The good news is I am almost pain-free now, except for late in the day and when I do some of the exercises I've been prescribed, but the bad news is the side-effects. As I've been in a haze of pain, followed by a medicated haze, I didn't click that the overly-happy, overly-miserable, extremely sensitive thing I was going through was due to the codeine and valium cocktail I was on. Stupid in hindsight, but there you are, we're none of us perfect.

So, I'm sorry for being an idiot (insert insult of choice). I don't normally go in for dramatic exits like that.

Please, can I come back if I play nicely again? A quick viewing a little while ago gives me the feeling that the forum is a better place to be again and I would like to continue taking part.

    Sorry once again.

Hahahaha, well I think the carb count on humble pie is zero, so it should fit into all of our lives Glad you're getting off the pain killers, welcome back.

PK - Welcome back. I'm very glad you decided to return. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Pain and meds have a way of casting a pall over everything. No need to be humble. Just get healthy.

Thank you, lbd, half-full & Geoff. It's been a long time since I had to titrate meds so I'd forgotten how tough it could be.

That'll teach me to get blasť about it all.

I do wonder though, if I hadn't been eating primally, whether I'd have felt worse... hmmm...

So glad you're back. . .keep us posted on how your back is doing. (BTW--I think humble pie is especially primal if it's filled with loads of saturated fat!)

Ah yes, I'm sure it has loads of sat fat in it!

I must say, my back has improved a great deal - I only seem to get some pain now when I get up from sitting for a long time and it comes back a bit in the evening. Other than that, I probably think I'm in a better state than before 'it' happened.

Back to the gym next week - yay!
