• Everyone here must be so angry and depressed

If the results of this study is to be taken at face value.

But apparently the study authors do suggest that it could be the carb withdrawal that caused the anger and depression.

With as much carbs as most people eat, it's not surprising they get angry and depressed at the mere THOUGHT of not eating them!

Carb withdrawl is tough, especially as carbs boost serotonin levels. Once people are transitioned off them, they feel better. I know for a fact that my PMS is far less noticeable when I'm not eating carbs - I'm sure most other women will admit the same.

It also helps to supplement with 5-HTP.

You beat me to this! (Rawrrr I'm so angry because of my rampant carb limitations!)

I saw this on the Philly news this morning and got a good chuckle while eating my eggs and sausage. I can see the carb deprivation being a problem in the first few weeks, but wow, once you get the swing of it there are far more benefits than the standard low fat way of eating.

Ha! That article made me chuckle. But by definition of that article, shouldn't I have been MAD MAD MAD?

            I grok, therefore I am.

I've heard many newcomers to this forum say how this is the nicest and the most polite forum they've seen. I bet they must have been on zero carb forums before LOL!

Wow, I've found that my mood is so much better, my energy levels are up...

One of my best friends went grain free last year and was able to drop antidepressants that she took for YEARS.

I've got no money, I've NEVER had money, I'm in a new job and a new home over 3 hours from my friends and family. It's cold and wet and I get covered in animal poop most days.

                            Nope, still happy!

I haven't had any problems since converting from a high-carb diet, but then I usually eat more than 100 grams a day as I don't want to drop any weight..
