  • I want to have some kind of animal on my face without looking stupid.

Recently all of my time has been occupied by trying to get my business off the ground. I have been pushing myself like crazy and sacrificing my social time and all the jazz that goes with it.

Now that things are getting under control and my time is starting to be my own again, I have decided that I am ready to start getting the ol' social life revived. I've gone out a couple times recently and I noticed that there are basically a lot of pretty people out there and I want to camouflage myself to fit in with the herd.

I think having something growing on my face might assist me with this, but I don't know what to do with it. I have no idea how long to let it grow, how short to trim it, where to trim it, or what kind of style to maintain without looking like a 70's porn star or a movie-star wannabe.

So Guys, Gals, Dudes, Dudettes, Vampires and and Bieber Fans... I implore you to please critique my facial hair and give me tips on where to go with it. Full ass viking beard or maintain the stubble? You help me decide!

P.S. This is a serious thread, I have no idea how to have facial hair and stay in style.

Three days of growth so far:

Oh yeah, I was reading on google that different facial types (round, square, triangle) look better with different beard styles. I don't know wtf kind of face I have. I'm so confused!

I like the stubble. But I am also partial to a moderately well-groomed goatee, particularly for your bone structure.

But please, no ZZ Top for you, young Rivvin, I think you're not yet old enough to carry it off. At your age and with your charming boyish looks, that goes beyond "man with confidence in his manliness" to just "um, kind of funny".

      Happy hirsute pursuit!

I hadn't even considered a goatee. I can't imagine what I'd look like with one, to be honest. I used to have a lazy-goatee when I was fatty mcfat fat because it made me look like I actually had a chin.

Time to filch some brown/black eyeshadow from a female friend/rello and do a bit of facial shadowing/experimentation with different beard lines!

Well that chart has definitely ruled out the Goatee

That was hilarious! BTW, my goatee suggestion totally includes mustache. And if you grow a pencil thin chin strap, you may have to be banned from this forum.

As a woman I tend to prefer men clean shaven, though a few days growth is incredibly sexy. As a woman with a son close to your age, I understand the desire for facial fur. With your looks and bone structure, this would look wee sexy.

Aren't you going to be going to a lot of business meetings? I'd play it safe and keep it clean shaven until you've hit a decent level of success where you can do whatever the fk you want.

heavens above you're so young and pretty, a clean-shaven crisp look makes sense to me.

However the neatly groomed stubble seems to be the look du jour - and it does look extremely hot on many guys. The trick is to get a nice even coverage - heavy patches in the goatee area look scruffy I think

this look (ha ha and I got a laugh when I read the text the image is attached to!!)
