Which is awful, I agree. But unfortunately everything to do with sex carries complications, and while there are things you can do to minimize the risks there is no 100% guarantee.

    • Both of my exes had it done (only one while I was with him), and most of the guys I've dated (about 4 years worth) had it done (mostly guys in their 40s and 50s). I really think they would have been comfortable saying if anything had gone wrong, but I didn't hear anything more than just pain if they climbed stairs too early, like the day after or something. To be honest, most of the permanent or semi-permanent methods for women involve some kind of pain or cramping, in various degrees.

      • My hubby has already said when we're done having kids he's getting snipped, that he didn't want anyone messing around my insides with a knife. I looked at him weird (I mean, its a kinda sweet, protective and weird thing to say) and his theory was if we suddenly decided to have more kids it would be easier to "link my tubing back together than yours. Besides, you gotta grow the kid, whats all that scarring going to do?" (direct quote).

Anyhow, not going to argue. It's nice of him to do instead of me.

you can lie about it, why actually be neutered?

in all seriousness how many guys do you tell you're sniped? probably none unless they ask you, it's more for the opposite sex than anything

            • On the other hand, lie about vasectomy on vacation, WIN.
In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.

                    • Really don't like hear about snipping tubes. Almost as disgusting as the period talk earlier. Is it too easy to get a divorce now?

Is it abusive to put duck tape on someones mouth if they talk to much? I did it with scotch tape to myself, and my teacher at the time didn't really stop me...

A scrotal hematoma. Perhaps it could have been avoided? Hematomas really only happen when blood vessels (and these are typically not minor capillaries) rupture under the skin and form a bruise... As thin as the scrotum can be stretched, I'm having difficulty believing that a specialist would be so incompetent. I can understand the chronic pain more than the other; with the support of the vas deferens severed, they hang lower in the scrotal pouch, which can cause cramping in the muscles which control contraction/relaxation of the scrotum.

You're right. But I still think things that work shouldn't be "broken".
