    • This thread was cool about 70 pages back. Most thorough derail ever. I'm going to post in one of the menses threads about bow hunting and Karl Marx now, see ya later. Sheesh.
If you are new to the PB - please ignore ALL of this stuff, until you've read the book, or at least http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/ and this (personal fave): http://www.archevore.com/get-started/

        • I read through some of the alpha male stuff. Generally don't agree that it means being disrespectful to women, but that it has been taken that way by a lot of dudes who are reading it on the intarwebs. I did kind of like some aspects of this post: Player’s Pop Quiz « Citizen Renegade

"Do I look fat in this?" The ONLY acceptable answer in my opinion out of that entire list was "Does my penis look bigger?" haaaa I love that one! The rest were either douchey, mushy or deflecting. Which are all irritating. This one is like, "here, let me ask YOU a question you don't want to answer." The only actual HONEST answer I would give a woman (were I a man, that is) would be "That dress might be too small for you." Because that's probably what she really wants to know.

Alpha-ness and primal go together like peas in a pod.

In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.

Gender equality isn't a matter of utilitarianism, but of morality.

Isn't morality a matter of beneficence?

True, in a way. It is a matter of morality because only an amoral society would allow two very different genders to be considered equal; a society whose government is given the power to wring all of the time and energy it can from its citizens as though they were sexless machines. A moral society understands the differences between the sexes and how each is valuable in certain ways and better suited for certain things. Apples and oranges are not equal.
