  • For those with Diabetes

    Hello all,

4 years ago I lost my Grandmother to complications from Diabetes. It was a sad time.

This year I will be riding in the ADA Tour de Cure, a fundraising for charity bicycle event that takes place across the country. This will be my second year riding. I am riding the 50 mile route through the Napa Valley in California.

If anyone wants to sponser a complete stranger the link is below
    Tour de Cure:

Really, I just wanted to share this with you all, and I hope that everyone here that has Diabetes can overcome it with diet and lifestyle changes. I hope that following PB has given you some respite from the condition.

I am riding for my Nan, but I am also riding for all of you that has Diabetes.

    Wish me luck!

    All the best,
    Dennis

It 's a nice way to honor your grandmother but it bothers me that the ADA is promoting carby diets under the guise of "treatment" that are the problem.

It is a nice idea but the ADA kill diabetics with their high carb meal plans, drug pushing and have no interest in curing it. If you want to help diabetics then promote Doctor Bernstein's work and spread the word that low carb diets are the only way for diabetics to prevent complications.

          Hi Dennis,
I think it's great that you are doing this to honor your grandmother, even if I disagree with the ADA recommendations. Maybe we could sponsor you & you can wear an "Ask me about the Primal Blueprint" shirt.
          Good luck!

I like that! Maybe next year I will get one printed up and get the word out there! This years' ride is in a few days.

Please don't ride for the ADA. They are making money killing people, as specified above.
Primal eating in a nutshell: If you are hungry, eat Primal food until you are satisfied (not stuffed). Then stop. Wait until you're hungry again. Repeat.

They also help people. Trying to find a cure for diabetes, giving glucose meters, insulin shots. Not everyone is type 2, some are born with this disease. I will ride. I will ride for my grandmother and all people with diabetes.

We already have the cure. The cure is to stop eating processed carbs, grains and sugar. That's the only cure (at least, for type II). All that money is being wasted, because the ADA wants to find a cure that isn't "eat the way your body is programmed to," since that doesn't make them any money.

I understand the need for visibility of the disease. I still don't want to give an organization like the ADA any credibility, credence, or cash.

Because not everyone with diabetes is type 2.

I find it incedibly insensitive that you (Griff) should bash me for doing a fundraising charity event in honor of my grandmother.

Grow up. You're raising money for an organisation that works to keep people like Griff sick
