  • My cankles --where did they go?!

I used to have nice slim ankles, but in the past 2-3 years I developed puffy undefined cankles. I chalked it up to getting older and being on my feet alot at work. I tried cutting the salt, thinking it was fluid retention. I told my doctor-but he just reinforced the salt restriction (which wasn't really working..)

Today, I looked down and hardly recognized my feet! My bones are back! Wow! And that's after having bacon and ham at least 2-3 times last week...

    YAY for PB!

Lovely! It is always nice to recognize the little changes, not just what we see on the scale.

      Yay! Cankle-freedom Day!

Today, I put my pearl on a shorter chain. I think I've lost nearly 2" from around my neck. My chin is losing its evil twin as well.

That should be a National Holiday! I've never had cankles but my ankles have always been fairly solid and they have slimmed down.

A necklace that I have is hanging a bit lower in the old cleavage. Nice feeling isn't it!

Yep, I remember about a month after going starch and grain free, looking down and saying wow, those are my ankle bones. I knew they were in there somewhere. They just got lost for a while. The jawline is also looking more defined and the bra strap bulge is going away. It's like being Michelangelo chipping away at the bits of marble that aren't needed until the masterpiece is revealed. Keep at it. Whoo HOO.

Wow, I wish my cankles were temporary! Good work!

I happen to have some good genetics (strong musculature) and some bad (long, large calf muscles). Although they look better, but they'll never be slim. My husband often teases me by asking, "Are you standing in 6 inches of water?" It's okay though, I have my cankles and he has his schnoz.

Yeah, I just realized today that my backfat is going buhbye. Now if the front fat would do the same.

Fantastic, DarkMistress! "Growing" back your bones is really really satisfying. I've never had wrist/ankle/clavicle bones show before primal. Ever. And it's strangely weird and exciting to have them!

Good job and I'm so happy for you!

Paleobird: Bra strap buldge? Are you talking about the little pocket of fat near your armpit in the front? My boyfriend liked to nibble those bits and called them my tender meats. Very sad day when he noticed they were gone.
