I'm trying to convince my husband that walking 2.5 miles from our house to the concert venue where DMB will be playing in June is better than driving 2.5 miles and sitting in traffic, because at least we'll be moving. He remains noncommittal at this point. I figure, why not? I can run (well, jog/wheeze) 3.1 miles for exercise or a race; walking 5 miles with a 2-3 hour break at the halfway point ought to be pretty easy!

              • When the thought that a meal "should" have bread doesn't even cross your mind. I've lost count of the number of times I'm making burger, gyros, pot roast, or something like that and come back from the store to "Did you get bread?" "Shit! No..."
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, steak in one hand, chocolate in the other, yelling "Holy F***, What a Ride!"

LMAO. So I had a get together and made sausage onions/peppers in the crock pot all day with some white rice for some friends.. last I served this they really wanted to have some buns.. So this time I decided that I was going to buy a couple buns for the people that want them. Well the grocery store I went to did a revamp about 8 months ago and moved a lot of things. Apparently they moved the bread... but I didnt know that. It took me some time to find it.. I was kinda laughing at myself

                  • I found that 90% stimulated . . . things . .. to move. Let's just say, it was a great laxative. Maybe I just wasn't primal enough last time I tried that.

Actually, absolutely necessary if pan-frying burgers. Coat the outside of the burger with butter before frying it. The butter caramelizes faster and adds kind of a crust that helps trap more juice inside the burger...plus the taste is divine.

Everyone seems to think this. I don't think two to three miles long, after having hiked 13 miles roundtrip with a friend of mine. After that, my confidence in walking anything half of that just skyrocketed.

Not at all. That's my walk both to and from school four days a week.
