  • There is hope!

I wanted to let everyone know that I went for a physical for the first time in YEARS the other day (I know, irresponsible) and when the Physicians Assistant looked at my diet she was VERY impressed. Loved that I ate no grains or refined sugar and praised me for being so fit. I was concerned about stepping on the scale because I had given up the scale 6 months ago, I had ridden 130 miles in the past 2 days, and had just eaten like a horse because of it. She saw that I was 166 at 5'4" and didn't even bat an eye. What a refreshing experience right?

Glad you have an understanding doctor. I love my diabetes doc. She's been very supportive of my weight loss journey, however she doesn't know about my PB lifestyle. I dread telling her, only to hear "You're eating WHAT?"

Oooooh, I like that one too. Strong is my goal now that I've lost the weight I needed to lose.

Re: irresponsible, I guess I'm there too - the last physical I had was to renew my CDL back in 1987 and in CA those are (at least were) about as cursory as it gets: no white cane, got a pulse = pass!

It's soooooo refreshing. After having to fight with my doctor for years I have a new one after moving. At my first appointment I told him how I ate, without actually calling is primal or paleo, and he commended me on it.

I can't wait to tell my vegan doctor that I'm 98% carnivorous.
In all of the universe there is only one person with your exact charateristics. Just like there is only one person with everybody else's characteristics. Effectively, your uniqueness makes you pretty average.
