Be prepared to talk about them. All the time. To everyone. Because everyone will ask. I got to the point where people said "Oh those are so cute" just to start teh conversationa nd I'd be like "No they're hideous but they're awesome" LOL

My husband hates feet, thinks they're gross. When I got my VFF's he said "OH Ew, they look like feet!" and then "You can't wear socks with them? Oh now they're going to SMELL like feet!" LOL

I wore them to my son's high school event over the weekend, the adults were creeped out but the kids loved them.

Interestingly, I actually get fewer comments when I go out barefoot (to the grocery, shopping, to a friend's house).

For those with "funny toes", you can modify VFF's if you're brave. Thinner models like the KSO work better. It basically involves heating the sole of the toe which needs to elongate, then stretching it. I use a pair of vicegrips because you can get a nice solid grasp. I stretch the big and pinky toes; many people need the second toe longer.

One day I was out hiking in my Vffs and a guy on a bicycle passed me and looked back saying, "Those shoes are just WRONG". Of course this is a guy dressed in multi colored skin tight spandex who was questioning MY fashion tastes. Oh, well.

The most common question I get asked is: "Are those comfortable?"
"No. They're excruciating, which is why I wear them all day EVERY DAY."
                lol

Hah. I feel like walking up to some of the young girls wearing those impossibly high platform plus stiletto strappy shoes and asking, "Are those comfortable?"

                      This...
At first I noticed that people noticed all the time.
Now I don't pay any attention to what people are noticing.
But, if someone asks I'm happy to direct them to the only local place to get a pair fitted.

Also... I think that my recent trip into blue hair may be distracting the glances away from my feet.
It's something one could try if they don't like the "looks" that VFFs sometimes garner.

Haha I only got my first pair yesterday, and they're one of the limited edition Aussie flag versions, so they DO look very different, not just cause of the toes . My kids think they are "weirdly cool", and my DD wants them (I said "NO they are MINE!"). I went to the store in them last night, but don't think anyone noticed (my pants were a bit long and probably covered them too much lol). I'd like to wear them out in summer (winter here!) with some shorter pants to see if they become more noticeable!! I can't say I've ever seen ANYONE wear VFFs in real life (well, except for me now!).

I've had my first pair for about three weeks now and am constantly bring asked about them. now, I did buy the orange and black kso, so not exactly low-key. I've gotten nothing but compliments while wearing them.

You'll create a new hype. I also get awkward stares but people will ask where you bought them
                            well then

I wear mine just about every where, it's just great when people walk by and do a double take and most kids think there pretty cool.
Most people ask how you like them, my response is they are the best thing I ever bought!
