  • Getting waved through security month after month (driving my utility company truck) then geriatric security dude nearly passes out flagging me down because HIS wave supposedly looks so very different from everyone else's "go ahead" wave, and then being told in a patronizing voice "You must be new..."

No, I'm not "new", I've been doing this for years. On the other hand, you must be "really trying way too hard to look like a badass rent-a-cop".

      beautiful
      yeah you are

Baby if you time travel back far enough you can avoid that work because the dust won't be there. You're too pretty to be working that hard.

Yeah, what runs through my head is vastly different from what I can say without getting fired.

Reason #27 that I'm looking forward to working with animals and not humans.

        • Talked to a friend of mine today. 8 years younger than I am, taking 14 different medications, going in for another foot surgery, obese, yada, yada, yada. Seems like everyone around me is sick, getting sicker, taking medications and having surgeries. And of course, they are all following the CW way of lifestyle. Damn depressing sometimes.

            • I went to pick up dog food and assorted dog stuff. They were out of every SINGLE type/ kind of puppy vitamins and didn't carry choline. Plenty of adult and senior vitamins, enough hair/ skin/ joint crap to choke a Shetland, but none of the two thing I wanted.

              • DD - after trying primal for 1 week - has come up with yet another excuse.... 'too expensive'. So me being me suggested that she could still cut out the sugar, processed food and grains, without too much effort - then what can I eat, says she ????
WTH ???? I realise that to change your lifestyle, you have to WANT to do this !!!!!! And i think that all these excuses equate to - she doesn't WANT to do this !!!!!!!!!!!!

                • Caterers for trainings I have to attend for work not offering a paleo/primal friendly - or even grain free option . . . I settled for ordering gluten free, so we'll see what I actually get . . .

(I'd bring my own food, but I'd have to pay for it out of pocket and bring something that can keep well from 6am until noon-ish without refrigeration. Grrr.)
                  Healthy Bucket List:
                  • Summit all of Colorado's 14-ers
                  • Hike the Appalachian Trail
                  • Do a real pull-up
                  • Run a 5k
                  • Be "Hot For Training Camp"

Worst excuse ever. You're right, it sounds like she lacks the motivation to push herself to do this. It's not an easy thing to do. I went primal while living in a military barracks with nothing but a microwave. Nothing else, not even a hot plate, was allowed. My budget was tiny and I had no car, and the taxis only dropped off at the gate. There was only so much I could carry and I bought food to last a whole week. I ended up eating tons of salads with canned wild-caught red salmon/microwave cooked bacon, green smoothies for breakfast, kefir, nuts, cheeses, pre-hardboiled eggs and deli meats. I took coconut and fish oil to supplement, then on the weekends when I could get out into town, I would eat whatever other kinds of meat I could get my hands on. I felt great. Now I have an apartment with my husband with a Whole Foods nearby and a much bigger budget, and I feel spoiled.

Fantastic CIL, I also think that it is just an excuse. The really sad thing about this DD is she suffers from ADD and reacts badly to sugar. Her eldest son (3 years. my grandson) has an horrendous constipation issue that the specialist has put him on an oil based laxative !!!!! But sometimes we just cannot see the wood for the trees !!!

                      • My sister who lives on a fairly low income told me that she had just spent a whole lot of money to see a 'natural healer'. She couldn't tell me what kind of 'healer' this person was which just goes to show how much thought she put into the process. This 'healer', after doing his thing (whatever that might have been), diagnosed her with chronic fatigue syndrome and several mineral deficiencies. So off she went and spent a fortune on supplements and tonics.

I suggested to her that she could also try quitting smoking, do some exercise and possibly eat better (all free by the way).

She told me that I was 'one to talk', then hung up on me.

                        • Still sick. Thought I was getting better after my round of Zithromax. Felt great this morning, only to come down with chills and body aches after lunch. . Took my temp when I got home ---102 F fever.

All right, help me to put together a list of small talk starters that I can rehearse before five.

                            1. What do you do?
                            2. Where did you go to school?
                            3. The weather is nice.

                            Save us. I'm bored already.

                            • How did you get bamboozled into going to a social even with strangers?

That is something I'd avoid like the plague.

I didn't know you were extreme introvert like me.

                                1. So... what's YOUR freak flag!
                                2. Let's talk politics!
                                3. Did you know they make many food flavors out of beaver anal glands?
                                4. I think Charles Manson is extremely misunderstood.

Kidding! PLEASE don't use any of those! Just relax and appear interested in what the other guy is saying. They'll never notice that you're hardly saying anything at all.
