  • February 2011 Outside Mag - "The Barefoot Revolution"

Brief two-page article, explaining how minimalist footwear requires changing from a heel strike to landing on the ball of your feet; 3 shoes are highlighted, including VFF Bikilas.

In an ironic juxtaposition, on the next 2 pages one finds "The Whole Story" on whole grains, and a snippet on why HFCS actually isn't that bad for athletes.

So, primal score: 1 out of 3.

OK, if one includes the fold out ad of the very fit, very naked man clad only in VFFs, primal score: 2 out of 4.
    Primal: going sane.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results."
    - Rita Mae Brown, though frequently attributed to Albert Einstein, Mark Twain, or Benjamin Franklin...

I'm not a seasoned runner but I was always under the impression that the heel strike was just bad, period. Even in conventional, highly-padded shoes. My husband got fractures that way.

I saw this blog, referencing VFF on NBC. Mainstream?

      *apologies if posted previously.
