    Is anyone there? I'm in shock.......but happy.

    It is day 8 of this way of life. I started on 22nd Jan when I weighed myself, measured myself, gave up bread and found MDA.
    23rd i went cold turkey. Ate only meat, vegis (not potatoes or starchy roots, but the garden is full of cabbage, broccoli saladings etc as it is mid-summer) butter and cream in my tea. I saw my doc wednesday, she approved paleo (had not heard Primal Blueprint) suggested I did 2 days protein and fat only to kick start things so I did, then ate vegis again. No fruit (I'd sooner eat cabbage than apples).

    Weighed and measured myself this morning (Saturday 29th, one week on)

    I have lost A WHOLE STONE, or in alternative currency, 6.5kg or 14.5 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have lost 1.5" of my bust, a whopping 4" off my waist, 3" off my hips.

    And I am a 48 year old menopausal woman.

    Start weight 231.5 pounds, 16 and a half stone. Now 15 and a half stone, 217 pounds.

    And I have stopped using hydrocortisone on my skin.

    Off to update my journal and then get down the beach with the puppy, who I credit for at least half of this weight loss as i now walk an hour in the morning and another in the afternoon with her....slowly as I'm not yet used to exercise.

      Wow! I know a lot of people will drop a huge amount of weight up front, but that's SO MUCH for just one week! Cool! It's mostly water, of course... but that just means your body was holding on to a bunch of water it didn't need, to deal with what you were feeding it. =]

        Yeah I heard the first week was water loss, and its funny because I'm drinking more water than ever before now.

        I had a bad month or two prior to starting and I was eating very badly indeed and using sugar as a crutch to get through the day.
