  • a question for the no soapers

sort of a silly question, but for the people who arent using soap in the shower, are you guys/girls using a scrub brush or loofah to help get off dirt or just letting water do its thing?

Just hands and warm water works fine for me.

I gave up the shampoo a while back, and I think it's been a good thing. However, I am not sure about the no soap on my body. You guys don't stink? What about using deodorant or antiperspirant? I get pretty smelly without it.

            lol

just water and hands. sometimes i use a washcloth if i feel especially grimy. i used to use loofahs, but they can harbor bacteria which is then rubbed into your skin.

I use a washcloth, not to scrub necessarily, but because I like the feel. As for stinking: nope, don't stink. I think water washing with coconut oil follow up does the trick.

I use something like a loofah, or sometimes a washcloth, and scrub. I don't know that it's all that necessary, but it makes me feel like I'm cleaner. I don't stink either.

I put on exfoliating gloves for about half my washes. I follow up with coconut oil on the days I use the exfoliating gloves.

                    What about shaving products?

I've been trying the no soap, no shampoo thing and it's going well, but have a question about shaving. I use a scrub (feels like creamy sand paper), then almond oil, then shaving cream. I figure the shaving cream is essentially soap with other items in it to make it slick. Any suggestions. I am prone to in-grown hairs. I hope I'm not stepping on toes with this question. I'm still learning the forum ettiquete.

Sometimes I use a sponge, sometimes I just stand around in the water doing nothing cuz it feels nice.

I use a one of those plastic scrubby things. I have almost no body odor anymore since doing away with soap. @fishin-frog...I use conditioner to shave with. I use to have a problem with ingrowns before too but not really a problem anymore. I'm thinking my folicles aren't being clogged with soap anymore. This may be the reason for the reduced BO also.

@fishin_frog -- No worries, we get pretty personal around here, at times. I use saponified coconut oil to shave, but ingrown hairs aren't really an issue for me.

No scrubber for me. Just water and saponified coconut oil for soap. Coconut oil for deo. And I don't stink, either. (At least, not in the olfactory sense.)

As for not stinking, I'm sure a clean diet really helps with that. Also I have never been one to perspire much.
