I eat dark chocolate solely sweetened with xylitol. I tolerate xylitol very well and its properties are a mirror-image of refined sugar's negative effects. Yes, it is not primal, it is a processed item but heck, it is a nice treat and not addictive at all (can be days without thinking about chocolate, unlike other folks around here ). Dates ? yeah, maybe once in a while but I am not super fond of them and taste way too sweet.
