I saw it in the store today. Bacon and chocolate in one candy bar.....I didn't buy it, it was $6 a bar and it was only 45% cocoa. Now I have officially seen it all LOL!!

Apparently chocolate covered bacon is a popular treat over there in the states: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chocolate-covered_bacon

Is this true, enquiring minds wanna know?...

I am from the states and I have to admit today was the first time I saw it. I only saw it because a man across the aisle from me announced it in the store and I had to see it for myself.

Vosges, oh baby. They do have a dark variety. They run about $6 at WF, but only a $1 less at CostPlus World Market. A once in a while treat, but oh, so very, very good. The bacon is actually cut into small bits, so there are salty bits of bacony goodness throughout the chocolate.

I have seen Mo's Dark Bacon Bar by Vosges Chocolate at Cost Plus. I've not yet purchased it, but plan to very soon. It's 62% and sounds very appealing ... salty and sweet together.

just make the primal chocolate truffles in the cookbook and add your own bacon. I did last weekend and had about 50 truffles from one batch. Pretty tasty.

Chocolate bacon is the North American plate consists of bacon cooked and covered with milk chocolate or dark chocolate. The popularity of the dish has spread, and the dish is also in television shows about food. Variant has been serving the State Fair, where the bacon is served with chocolate sauce, and dipping. It has also developed into a bar of gourmet food.

I've had the Vosges salted almond and the Vosges Chili...both very tasty. I want to mix up some 95% dark chocolate with lots of chili or red pepper flakes. Spicy and chocolate go SO well together.

I bought one recently too, and to me it tasted a bit like dog treats smell.

I saw this too at World Market, but wasn't sure if I would like it. Sounds like most people think it's just ok.

Ironman picked up a bar for us to try. We liked the bacon in it, but the chocolate itself was WAY too sweet. It was 62%, but we usually buy 99%. Tasted like sugared bacon.
